Niguel Johnson told the server his name was Aziz.
Why?
To: yesthatjallen
Bingo, he gets free coffee for life!

“Contending that his statement that ‘there’s nothing going on between us’ had been truthful because he had no ongoing relationship with Lewinsky at the time he was questioned, Clinton said, ‘It depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.”
Simple mistake. *SNORT*

Sounds very similar.
As a man with hearing problems, I think a name you never heard before is among the hardest things to catch.
No reason to be upset other than making news noise.

I think this is a feel-good story, given that it happened to Starbucks and the dame didn’t get canned.
Free coffee, and free coffee from Starbucks at that.
If I had free coffee from Starbucks, I’d go there many, many, many times a day. And use it to water their plants. Take sips in front of the store, spit it out when lots of people are watching, and then throw it in the trash and walk away in disgust.
If I didn’t have to drive an hour. This place is far too urban.

I actually like SB coffee, but I find it overpriced. One of my favorites is Pilot coffee, and I like McD and Bojangles, too. Panera Bread is also good.
Must admit, I like most coffees.

I usually only go to Starbucks when I am out of town and need some coffee (unless there’s a Peet’s around). I always use a shortened version of my name to keep it simple e.g. “Tom”instead of Thomas, “Rick” instead of Richard, etc. (neither of those examples are my real name, BTW). If I had a foreign name, I would probably just make one up, like “Ed”. Who cares if they get your name right? It should be about getting your order.

Niquel? Aziz? What ever happened to Bob, John, Mike, Stan, Paul, etc. etc.???
With an accent, Aziz would sound very close to Isis. That this is news makes clear the eggshells we are all supposed to be walking on around Muslims —and damned near everyone else-— these days.

I like most coffee—I admit to having no taste.
I hate Seattle in general and Starbucks in particular for political/cultural reasons (I go way back in rural Oregon).
It doesn’t help that I am poor, agree on it being over-priced and have an estranged wife who thinks that Starbucks coffee isn’t quite a human right.

Normally Starbucks asked for a name when you place an order.
