Which means they will have at least one less hour of daylight after school.

You know, why not just close all the schools? The students aren't interested in being there. They don't learn anything anyway.
In reality, California schools are a police action designed to keep punks, drug dealers, and thieves off the street for a few hours per day. Not to mention to provide a handsome montetary gift to the so-called NEA "teachers" voting block.

Actually, this is a good idea. I don’t like everything being mandated by the government. Nevertheless, middle schoolers don’t learn well in the early morning and need their sleep. Starting later is a good plan.

Maybe they will come up with a breath tax, since we exhale CO2. Only a rat 🐀 bastard like him, could come up with something like that.

I dont like everything being mandated by the government. This is typical government overreach. The old its for the children thing. Let the educators and parents figure out whats best for the children. Its a slippery slope. The next thing we know, some unelected dirt bag will mandate what the children should eat for lunch. Oh wait, the Mooch already tried that. After all, it was for the children. It didnt work out too well.
I am up the road a piece from you, two hours different from Port Moresby.

It was no big deal for our swim team to practice at 6 AM when we were in high school. Woke up before any other students did, drive to school and practice for an hour then shower/dress and we were already good for class to start.
Incidentally, our swim team had the highest grades in the school. And for two years running our school had the highest SAT scores in the state. We won state championship too.

I watched my grandkids do the early school hours....Lunch was at 10:30 AM. Ridiculous. Now some schools have figured out providing "baby sitting" before and after school to accommodate working parents. It works.
I'm up super early...but I'm not functioning at a decent capacity. In a couple hours, I'll be up to par.

When I was in high school (45 years ago) band practice and some athletic teams had practice starting around six thirty - seven o’clock. But now a days I have heard the don’t even have music classes or athletics anymore.

This commie is a busy little man. All of them are. The left is moving fast to change this country for the worse. Whether Trump wins or loses these people are going to have to be beat and eliminated. In the streets and the field. It will come to that. Our liberties are in jeopardy.

why not just close all the schools Public schools, anyway. Especially the day care centers that take care of the 19 and 20 year old whining, entitlement black students; offspring of whining, entitlement black parents.
They don't learn. Can't be disciplined. And prevent other students from getting anything resembling an education. It's all nothing but a ponzi scheme, anyway. A scam designed to keep the paychecks flowing for the relatives of high ranking administrators.

I went to a large union high school for a while. Split classes. 2 different start times. I had to be on the bus at 6:00am. It wasn’t fun but it didn’t hurt me. It’s actually a good thing to discipline yourself to get up early.
