A 70-year-old man was fighting for his life on Wednesday after being struck in the head by a brick during a clash between anti-government protesters and residents in Sheung Shui.
The man was among more than 20 local people who were clearing bricks left by protesters on Lung Wan Street outside the Sheung Shui MTR station around noon.

Burning and bricking the residents ain’t a good way to win your cause.
One wonders if there aren’t some agents provocateur among the “protestors.”
I know many people in Hong Kong, and they don’t at all like seeing subway stations burned, bricks thrown, stores trashed, as well as protestors being shot by police.
Its pretty clear also that the local police have been taken over by officers from Mainland China. Putonghua (standard mandarin) is now heard often coming from police on the scene.
I keep on being called a Communist Chinese agent for pointing out the so-called “protesters” are basically antifa thugs. The police aren’t the aggressors in these confrontations. The West is getting a totally skewed account of what is going on.

Really, though, this is a great thing and it’s the most resistance the ChiComs have met in their entire rule.

Meh. You could show me Ronald Reagan’s ghost rising from the grave to support them and that wouldn’t change the fact that some very hard lefties who are never known to support real anticommunist movements are totally supporting these protesters for some reason.
Maybe, just maybe, they know something we don’t.
At this point, it is now almost impossible to know whose side someone is on and who is being infiltrated.

Meh. If the “real truth” were as you claim and not as Ted Cruz says, we got leftists trying to take out Communists. And if such were actually the case, your response should be “Let them fight”.

Some have indeed done violent things. I believe they got tired of hoping that peaceful protests (in the millions) will have an impact.
The cops, like the HK govt itself, are under the control of the Chinese Communist Party and by every account I’ve heard/read count “People’s Liberation Army” soldiers in their ranks. The HK police used to be considered “Asia’s Finest”, but never again will they see that title due to their actions.
I have little doubt that the protestors will get the Tienanmen Square treatment. They will all either end up dead or in prison camp. You can’t take on the PLA and win - at least not in HK.
There’s not much that can be done to save them outside of a govt collapse in Beijing. Like the movie says, “it’s Chinatown”.

ChiComs have used immolation as false flags before. They did it against FaLun Gong.
There are false flags and agents posing as protestors.
The protestors use fires and blocking streets defensively to block the police and to escape and not be caught.
The public overwhelmingly, according to polling surveys, support the violent protestors over police. 2% stated they side with police. Not a typo. 2%.
This is because the police started this when the demonstrations were peaceful. Millions of people, marching and singing hymns. Police began using tear gas and beating demonstrators.
The ChiComs initially sent gangsters to beat protestors and the police did not respond.
Regular people have experienced the police brutality directed not only at active participants.
Hong Kong wants autonomy, not ChiCom rule. They were promised autonomy by UK and ChiComs.
Police are now comprised of Chinese brought in from China. There are videos of them speaking perfect Mandariin. Some are probably Chinese cops and others gangsters.

If these are real HK protesters, then resorting to violence to get their grievances heard is a tactic that will backfire.
Originally, we were all impressed at the orderly and peaceful protests from millions of citizens. I was even impressed when I saw how the crowds backed off when they saw an ambulance coming. The next day, we even saw pictures of protesters cleaning up the trash on the streets. *THIS* was the face of Hong Kong’s protest then.
It suddenly all changed when in July 2019 A mob of over 100 armed men dressed in white indiscriminately attacked civilians on the streets and passengers in the Yuen Long MTR station including the elderly, children, black-clad protesters, journalists and lawmakers. At least 45 people were injured in the incident, including a pregnant woman.
Up to now, we do not know the identity of these mobsters, but that was the catalyst that triggered the violence and vandalism we now see.
You lose the moral high ground if you resort to vandalism, violence and defacement of public property.
The majority of those who value law and order do not want to see this and this only gives the ChiComs a reason to clamp down Tien An Men style.
You are cutting your own throat in effect.
The HKers may need guns and weapons.
Also, this could spread to China. Chinese people aren’t in love with their local police and party bosses. They could be inspired to fight back.
It’s hard to know just how much the party is worried.
