I don't know, but perhaps one of the other freepers might be able to answer your question.
Rain Dance needed !

All the best Fred. And if the worst happens, we will help as you know.
Queensland.
Where in Australia ARE Mr. & Mrs. Fred Nerks?
I was watching mainly the eastern fires on TV. I didn’t pay attention to all of the other fires.
There was a great show on Netflix called Keeping up with the Joneses. Quite interesting.

Thanks. Hang in there!
May God’s rain fall on the Australian just and unjust and lift their on/off drought situation.
Thank you Candor.
Yes!
Arsonists should be thrown into a fire. They must be executed. Most fires in CA are arson.
Singapore is (or at least used to be) a world leader in desalination tech, due to its high population density and small realty footprint; same goes for Israel. California is just run by morons, and they have the votes in Congress to keep everyone else in the west thirsty while they drink from diverted river waters. Australia's population is heaviest in the wettest part of the country, so there really isn't a water crisis per se.
How right you are, there's a desalination plant on the Gold Coast which hasn't been operating because they didn't need it to. There's no way AU could desalinate enough water to irrigate farming land or the interior. What I think we need is more dams, which the 'greenies' have been protesting against.
The tide is turning against them now, after this drought, the damns we need WILL be built, and the forests cleared of undergrowth, despite their idiotic protests.
Trickle irrigation first, then enhance the water supply. That’ll be a big project.
Glad to hear it!
Maybe Australia has a desert aquifer some where like Libya and consequently could have a Great Man Made River.
Imagine the vast irrigation of Australia’s out back. You could grow enough fruit to supply the entire world.
How are things going today?
Lots of smoke, very hot, helicopters flying over, water-bombing, ready to evacuate when advised to do so.
Not happy.
I am so sorry to hear this, I hope that the fires get controlled soon.
When is rainy season? We have lots of wildfires in the northwest in the summer since there is usually no rain at all for 5 months or so, sometimes 6, and of course the envirocreeps’ policies have created forests with huge fuel loads too. But when the rains start, such a relief. So I hope your rainy season starts soon.
Supposed to rain in summer, hasn’t done that for a long time...we’ve been in drought for at least five years. That’s except for when it rains out west and drowns 500 thousand head of cattle.
Never a dull moment.
Oh my goodness - a five year drought, that is severe. Australia is a wild place.
