A Freeper made an excellent point last week. He noted that while there no longer exists a common consensus of unifying core values in America and the divisions are real, they are not yet volatile. Most folks do not feel the deprivation, passion and rage that would lead to actual violent civil war. People like Maher are frightened for their own safety and there is a robust market for trained , armed bodyguards especially among wealthy loud leftists. However don’t sense yet the dynamic exists that would lead to open warfare.

There's no way to know if that will be the objective from Day One of such a conflict. If the people who think that should be the ultimate goal all say "Count me out", well, you can see the problem.
