Democratic presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg is facing a left-wing backlash over a resurfaced 2011 clip that shows him talking about challenges faced by minority students.
The video shows Buttigieg, then a South Bend, Indiana, mayoral candidate, saying that “there are a lot of kids especially from lower-income minority neighborhoods who literally just haven’t seen it work, there isn’t somebody they know personally who testifies to the value of education.”

Can’t win as a Democrat telling the truth about a problem. Delusion rules.
In a time of universal lies, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
Pete’s statement was correct. Many black kids don’t see anyone near them promoting the virtues of going to school and getting good grades. The idiot from The Root just can’t handle any remark about blacks that is not complementary, especially when the remark is being made by a white male.
Get over it. The kids do need positive role models.
That has always been true.
Yes. However, anyone who points out how the social infrastructure of the current black community is hurting its children and failing to encourage behaviors that will make them successful is vilified. To the left and the incredibly unknowing 'know-it-alls' it just HAS to be 'racism'. To them, racism is the cause of everything.
There are plenty of wonderful moral people in the black communities of America who need help in their efforts to have safe neighborhoods and cohesive loving families who encourage and support their children. Instead of joining them and helping them, the hateful push racial division instead.

Of the black college students I’ve met who have actually heard of him, quite a few refer to him as “Butt Itch” or “Butt Stitches.” Presumably there’s something about him they don’t like.

That’s my take on it too.
Even though I don’t plan to vote for Mayor Pete, I try to remain objective enough to hear what he’s talking about for that conversation.
