Trump: ‘Great News’ That Singer Hedge Fund Has Taken AT&T Stake
Twitter ^ | 9/9/19 | Donald Trump

Great news that an activist investor is now involved with AT&T. As the owner of VERY LOW RATINGS @CNN , perhaps they will now put a stop to all of the Fake News emanating from its non-credible “anchors.” Also, I hear that, because of its bad ratings, it is losing a fortune.....

...But most importantly, @CNN is bad for the USA. Their International Division spews bad information & Fake News all over the globe. This is why foreign leaders are always asking me, “Why does the Media hate the U.S. sooo much?” It is a fraudulent shame, & all comes from the top!

Paul Singer and Eliott Management came to my attention after an expose on Tucker Carlson's show of how he destroys companies with leveraged buyouts. Sort of like Danny DeVito in Other People's Money. Tucker especially focused on a small town in Oklahoma that had been destroyed when a highly lucrative sporting and fishing megastore was bought out and then wrecked by Singer.

So, his wicki article says Paul Singer is a "businessman, philanthropist and activist," and further research uncovered that he was a major Republican donor, who had opposed Trump in '16. That his activism includes lobbying to keep the government from further regulating the financial industry, and getting society to accept gay marriage (his son is married to another man). All very self-serving. Most likely a thorough never-Trumper, and certainly not a good guy. See Tucker for details.

Still, I can understand Trump being glad Singer's moving on AT&T/CNN. CNN might either get liquidated, or might clean up its act, if not to switching to a conservative editorial policy, then at least to actually practicing journalism, and firing all the nitwits that presently make that impossible.

I watched it too.

I believe it was Sidney, NE and Sasse failed to comment when asked about it.

It would be funny if a little bad PR turned him around. It would be interesting to see the folks at CNN apologize for what they have done to keep their jobs.

CNN, if it’s not profitable is fried chicken. Or there’s a chance that Singer may gut it, sell what he can and then form another “Right Leaning/Conservative” programming option to drive a stake through the heart of Fox.

Tucker did an outstanding job detailing the vulture, Paul Singer and his useless, bought & paid for politicians (Ben Sasse)

Watch Tucker rip apart Paul Singer

What boils my blood is that #NeverTrumper Senator Ben Sasse took the largest possible donation from Paul Singer. No wonder Sasse didn't raise a finger to save Sidney, Nebraska. The coward would not even return a phone call from Tucker's producers. This punk needs to be primaried.

Hopefully Singer isn’t getting involved with CNN to use it as his own Amazon Washington Post. If Singer is a Never Trumper, he may just want to prop up the failing CNN so their message continues.

I scrolled through much of Trump’s twitter feed but didn’t see this tweet. It is early, and I’ve only had a half cup of coffee, so I could have missed it.

I was with AT&T/Lucent for many years and watched it go from one of the greatest companies on the planet to a shell that only enriches its top managers while it laid off people by the hundreds of thousands and saw its stock lose 99% of its value. I don’t care what happens to it. Let Singer tear it to pieces. He couldn’t possibly do any worse than their own people did.

"...Sasse failed to comment when asked about it."

Because Singer owns his ass, Sasse will do as Singer instructs him to do.
How 'bout it, Sasse - what if Singer wanted your wife? I mean, he already has your testicles....

I’ve been saying for years on this forum. The media companies are all publicly traded. Instead of complaining about them, conservatives should pick one and start buying the stock. Put your money where your keyboard is.

That was an age, when such things went on. Singer is a surviving raptor from the age of the terrible lizards.

Why does this post exist? This tweet was months ago and Singer has not influenced CNN one iota. I expected something relevant to today. Thanks for wasting mine and everyone’s time.

I’ll settle for honest journalism, but that’s too much to ask for in these bad new days. Party journalism of the sort that had Hamilton die in a duel is now the norm, only they claim to be “fair and balanced” or “objective”.

While there might be the money, conservatives lack the will to act

If a lizard like this endorsed Trump and he accepted it, I’d lose all respect for him. He’s a one-man forgotten-men&women factory.
