It's more blatant than that. Nancy Pelosi actually said that the question of who will be president in 2021 is too important to be left to the voters. I seem to recall that other leftist politicians have also expressed a desire to disallow elections, but can't think of a specific example at the moment.

Seems to me that Pelousy’s statement is anti-constitutional and should be prosecuted. What she said is very clear and easily understood; unlike what they accuse Trump of saying on his phone call.

So to answer your question about Joe Average Citizen, I suspect that many of them do not even know that this mess is going on in Washington.
How could that be you ask? Because many people just aren't into following the machinations of the nation's political class. They're grinding out their daily lives doing what they can to survive and get ahead.
My sister is a good example. She's into her yarning and crocheting, watching NASCAR, football and tending to her yard and menagerie of dogs and cats. When I ask her about all of this political turmoil in DC, her eyes glaze over and she reverts back to talking about her hobbies and pastimes.
Joe Average Citizen doesn't have a clue because most just aren't interested.
Yeah, I think you’re exactly right. It’s always great to see people enjoying their lives, but sad that there’s so much going on in Washington that affects them significantly, yet they’re mostly oblivious to it.
