There are "significant differences" between former President Richard Nixon's impeachment process and President Donald Trump's, according to journalist Tom Brokaw, including how the two leaders handled difficult times in office.
"Nixon was always aware of being presidential," Brokaw told MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Monday night. "Trump plays from the gutter frankly."
Last week, the House of Representatives voted along party lines to impeach Trump for abuse of power and obstructing Congress. Trump has maintained his innocence since the inquiry into his dealings with Ukraine was launched in September, calling the process a "witch hunt," and his supporters, including Republican legislators, have continued to support the president.
Brokaw told Matthews that this public display of support for Trump is a different situation from when Representatives pursued impeaching Nixon. At the time, Brokaw said, the Republican Party didn't speak out against impeaching the president the way they are today.

Nixon’s lowering the “national” maximum speed limit to 55mph, asking to set your thermostats 74 summer, 68 winter, wage and price controls, gas lines/shortages, to name a few made him a great President in the like minds of Brokaw and his leftist ilk.

Nixon allowed himself to be driven from office by the same louts tryingto push Trump out. They succeeded then based on Nixon’s unwillingness to fight back. They will fail with Trump the warrior.
He was on the punch list to sound off against Trump, so he filled his slot.
Next one crops up after Brokaw’s comment has been mined for all it is worth.
It is the democrats who are playing from the gutter.Trump is not afraid to engage them and destroy them.

As a matter of fact George Bush went in hiding his entire 2nd term he was so afraid of getting impeached. That’s when the economy fell off the face of the earth.
Mr. Brokaw has not realized that President Trump get things done to make America Great. It seems Mr. Brokaw thinks that the leader in the free world should just pacify his challengers. Maybe that attitude is why Mr. Brokaw was just second rate as a newsman.
Is he dissing homeless people at the same time he is dissing our president?
Trump has a lot more integrity than tricky Dick.
