I think Collins was allowed to vote yes for witnesses by Mitch once he knew he had the votes. That’s so Collins still has a chance to win in Maine in November in a relatively liberal state, as opposed to going to a Dem.

She could be yes with McConnell's okay ... if he's sure he has the votes to shut this down. So let's see what happens.
Let's not throw her out so quickly. She's going to vote to acquit -- and if we lose her we may lose the majority in the Senate and we need that for appointing judges and committee chairmanships.

More than likely Collins made a deal with a red state democrat so she could vote yes and they can vote no. I’m not sure on Manchin, I don’t think he plans on running again. Does anyone know when his term is up?
