When President Trump restricted travel to and from China nearly two months ago, the outcry from the left was deafening. Everyone from Democrats to the World Health Organization to mainstream media panned the move as racist and xenophobic. Now, information stemming from genome sequencing of those infected indicate the Presidents unpopular move was not only correct, but may have happened too late.
This is fascinating, it looks like 90% of the COVID transmission in Seattle is from a single introduction in late Jan from China. The NY intro is from Iran and San Diego intro from Europe. https://t.co/ZBbzrtgU5u

The Wuhan coronavirus may not be as fatal as it was initially believed, but its spread is far greater than the flu or anything major weve seen in decades. This is due in part because asymptomatic people can be contagious for over a week. As the disease spreads across the country and around the world, one political assessment cannot be disputed: The lefts love for open borders has, is, and will continue to exacerbate the problem.
We, as a nation, must control our borders. That means three things need to change as soon as possible. First, we need to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into our nation. Any thoughts that this is not the case need only to learn about the masses of people coming from nations where the infection is already bad, entering the United States illegally through the borders made porous by Democratic policies.
Second, we must allow for instant actions by the White House that are above reproach from legal objections. The President has always enjoyed wide powers when it comes to who can enter the country and how they do so, but during the Trump administration there have been...

What is NOQ repor To?
I’ve been saying something like thus is probable.
But what evidence does this unknown source have?
Imagine a terrorist group with 100 separate introductions throughout the country.
So I’m supposed to believe that someone ate a bowl of bat soup, or whatever, in China, and somehow Tom Hanks, Idris Elba and Justin Trudeau’s wife caught it?
Nope, sorry, that’s not what has happened.
Did you read the article?
Or just immediately start emitting brain farts?
Well, one should ask out loud why Mar-a-Lago was bombarded with lost Chinese tourist for the past several months. Every other week it seemed security was catching a chinese national.
The article is about a twitter feed by Trevor Bedford. He works for one of the big hospitals(?) or some research place in Seattle and does genome research. He has been studying this and posting his stuff on twitter.
Pretty interesting stuff - tracking it by how much it mutates, estimating how many people it moves through and the time it takes to get to those mutations, etc.
Good point.
The reports on the first two patients speculate that it was zoonotic transfer from bats sold at Wuhan market. That is what happened with SARS
From those cases China ignored the rapid spread. People were traveling globally It is the human traveling that caused the world wide spread
His response is based on the data. Looks like China, knowing they had a pandemic, didnt stop travel. Hence, the were complicit in the spread either by ignorance or strategy.
Yes, I did, in my comment though, I’m speaking generally of the origin of this.
I don’t believe it ever came from one. Here or there. This was seeded.
I cannot even fathom in my mind how this could spread at it has from one person, a patient zero.
That concept is mind blowing, honestly. If it did happen then this contagion is incredible.
Saw an interesting statistic today about testing for COVID-19 results in Washington in the Seattle Times daily update.
Of the 10,220 tests done in WA state only
769 were positive for COVID-19.
9451 tests were negative.
Not sure what to make of this on initial review but may have to look and follow their data.

He flew from Wuhan to Sea-Tac so it is likely he contaminated people on the plane as well as in the Airports. I do not know how he traveled from Sea-Tac to Everett so likely some mass transportation.
His strain of the virus is supposed to be the strain responsible for the many deaths in the Life Care center here in Kirkland, Washington.
You really dont understand viruses then
It is how all viruses spread. There is always a patient zero. The problem is where has that person been? How many people has he been in contact with? How many of them have come down Dick?
You just havent paid attention over the years
Now I am reading that H5N6 bird flu just showed up in China.
We have to do something to initiate some kind of Quarantine for everything coming from China. Especially people and livestock. Of course it does little good if the entire world does not do the same with regards to China.
It’s true, I’m not a virologist.
In fact, the only thing I really know about viruses is that I had the flu once when I was 16. That was the sickest I’ve ever been, I could do nothing, I was in bed the whole time, don’t even know if I went to the bathroom or ate.
So you must be young
Many of us have seen measles and whooping cough and polio and chicken pox. Fewer remember small pix. A virus can run like a prairie fire
One doesnt have to be a virologist. One just needs to pay attention. If patient zero shopped in a market , ate at a restaurant, went to a movie theater or concert then the potential is thousands of unknown patients all of whom have come in contact with thousand of others. Not every one has to catch the virus for the numbers to be staggering. Thats why limiting your exposure to crowds can be helpful. Limiting foreign travel is helpful
We will get over tjis eventually. Mitigation can make it sooner rather than later. Many of the estimates are worst case scenarios. They most likely wont happen IF people adjust now
By the way do you know who you caught the flu from? Can you trace that back beyond a close friend or family member? Probably not
When I got the Hong Kong flu I was in college. Have no clue why Dick person passed it along
