I’m not a finance guy. I’m sure they are “very concerned”. Look at it this way, everyone in the country has thrown their wealth in the air now. When this is all over people will be grabbing for what comes down. It’s gonna be a new world in a week. Be glad it’s over in a week because it could have been much, much worse.

I read that the other day. Here’s the problem. You can negotiate a new contract. You can’t negotiate a new diagnosis or outcome. It don’t work that way. Doctors don’t have a “Get out of Jail Free” card they can just lay on you.

Let’s operate on the happy assumption that the diagnosis, WooWoo, will remain the same.

The treatment will be dramatically different. ‘take this pill for a week, if Y conditions persist or get worse call me’. Vs. million dollar ICU bills.

The outcome may be dramatically different as well. Instead of lung damage or death, some manageable side effects for most of the outliers.

I strongly suspect over the next months there will be a “Tamiflu” for Coronaviruses. All we have to do is keep our heads for a week. I’m starting to think some of these “finance guys” do “get it” but they want to be first in line when the market opens.

I suspect it will be functionally ‘better’ than tamiflu.

More like a shot of rocephin for strep. Pretty much overnight relief for most people.

The folks doing molecular biology nowadays are light years ahead of when I was in college. The “Lac Operan” was about the limit back then. Lehninger was a small text. I had a friend who was doing PhD work on the new “hot thing”. Bacteriophage. Sequencing the genome by hand.

I still have a shoebox full of punch cards. Another one with 5 inch floppies. If there is any data left on them one probably couldn’t find a place that could read them.

One more note concerning the ruthless amoral Dems:

..... inconvenient photo -- Washington Post. Shows everyone exactly what these *sshole Democrats were doing nearly two months ago when CHINESE VIRUS INFECTIONS AND DEATHS were headlines.

(Impeachment/Bolton BS)

Did he mention that the “economic inferno” is a self-immolation?

If you watch it you may get that answer.

Nevertheless, when you wrote, "self-immolation", who is the "self"?

Bannon has been sounding the alarm, on the outbreak and all things related, for some time, now.

He doesn’t have on-demand access to cable news shows. He DOES have his own daily podcast, though.

Why are you bashing him?

They’re not good. They’re all over the highways. They’re waiting in crowds in front of the stores, when the stores open. Then they’re walking slowly around the stores, as more flood in. They do so, until the trucks arrive. More zombies stream in all day, walking around and around the the stores. They drive from store to store to do the same in other stores. The roads are full of them, and that’s in states that are supposedly locked down in Midwestern rural areas.

I make two essential round trips per day but would rather watch the insanity from home. Considering quitting to stay at home to watch the moronic spectacle of a lifetime from there. I’m guessing that the average IQ and temperament of the U.S. population is about to improve in a horrible way. Shame. With the right leadership in many of the communities, that could have been done more wisely.

I think the White House is saying today that the lockdown may last 10-12wks. That’s a lot
