My question about this guy is, who is he treating? Hes in Monroe, has he been driving over the Ex Tappan Zee to New Rochelle for weeks to have collected data, enough to definitively publish a golden work? Who is this guy? 59 is young btw:) Get off my lawn.

I guess if it is take some drugs that might work or wait another week to see a doctor - hopefully somebody can give you the drugs and that we have enough.
And hopefully the testing will be more up to speed as the days go by. Of course more testing means more positive results which means fewer doctors per patient.
I’m very familiar with Kiryas Joel. And rt208. There was no outbreak there ahead of New Rochelles, unless it was suppressed. Who knows.
Zinc is also needed for making healthy sperm. With everything shut down worldwide there’s going to be a major baby boom 9 months from now. What to name this synchronized generation?
If chloroquine is given out like candy, there is a risk that patients will take the medicine until they start to feel better and then stop taking it. That makes it more likely for a chloroquine immune mutation to survive. Remember the story of sulfa drugs? How do we ensure that at home patients take the entire prescription?

t know- I don’t think there’s gonna be an awful lot of folks getting it- just the ones with breathing issues- really- and it’s gonna be just a short stint- short course- so not sure about mutations- the virus will mutate on it’s own anyways- but they said the mutations are going to be easily controlled w/ vaccine i read because of the type mutations or something- Most people getting the flu will not develop breathing problems- I can see giving someone who is struggling for breath the drug because the virus can really kick into high gear in some folks in a very short time- others they will get up next day and be fine- I would think it better to err on the side of caution since we don’t know who will take a turn for the4 worse or not-
You can’t really ensure home patients will take all the drugs- even with folks who get antibiotics, they don’t take them the recommended time sometimes- people been not taking them properly for 100’s of years- without too much issue- there are some superbugs of course- but given the length of time people have not been taking them right, you would think there would be a lot more supervbugs- but there aren’t- This is just an unprecedented time (in recent history that is) and i would think that if it did mutate- there would be vaccines to deal with it soon-
It’s a tough call- folks are learning as they go given the abrupt nature of the attack fro m the virus-
Is Kiryas Joel a primarily Jewish neighborhood - or is it more of a “commune” type thing (can't think of a better word.) I read where the other leaders in the community were saying that there was no mass outbreak of CV in their community.
And based on the doctor's diagnosis of who got the medicine - I would agree there never was an outbreak.
The left wants this to fail because Trump proposed it as a cure. They want people to die because of their hate.

At first glance, Dr Z looks a bit scary. I listened to him and I was impressed. He obviously cares for his community and his patients. I didn’t know about his lung cancer. God bless him.
I was saying on another thread that if HCQ/Zpack/zinc combo works in only 50% of cases - although more evidence it’s more effective than that - it’s worth using. It would free up hospital beds and ventilators for other cases where it’s not working so well. It could be others may need Gilead’s remdisivir or plasma antibodies from cured patients or some other therapy. Whatever works.
The Elephant in the Room is that we don't have enough data to measure convincingly "How many would have died/would have had severe symptoms" without it?
If you had a severe case of covid-19, would you try choloroquine, or volunteer to be in a study in which some of the subjects would receive a placebo? Among people who would choose to receive chloroquine instead of volunteering, I wonder if they would be more likely to be less healthy than the volunteers (who might be more optimistic about their chances than the others).
I had to take note of points in your comment that bear further address. The FDA, from my limited understanding, has already approved rapid ramp-up of production in regards to Hydroxychloroquine. Whether the method proscribed by Dr. Zelinsky will become the uniform route remains to be seen; he seems to have had dramatic success. As to the availability of supply, there has been anecdotal commentary about several million doses in the system and Israel has offered approximately 1 million tablets to o the U.S., so that should not cause any delay.
POTUS will use an industrial quality chainsaw to get red tape and the porcine elements out of the way.
Not much confidence towards chloroquine - from what I have learned it can be quite toxic in higher doses; though hydroxychloroquine seems to be the preferred form.
