Starting Saturday, we will limit the number of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a stores capacity.

C'mon!
Man, we got it made now.
Can't you remember how terrible it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s, with all the full shelves, cheap prices, no limits and nobody making you stand in line to buy what they decide you can have?
That just wasn't fair and by god the communist democrat party of the US finally is getting it's way and is teaching us the joys of socialism.
This is globalism practicing.
Same thing for me. The crowd control stuff was in place but very few customers in the store.
They had a fat girl as the entrance sheriff...built like a run stopper. If I had to break through that line, I’ll need a 240lb fullback in front of me.
I saw a line outside Sams Club over a week ago and decided I didnt need anything on my list. Trader Joes was great, and Target pretty good too.
Im basically done as well.
I scored on TP today at BJs.
Got the batteries we needed, and picked up a bunch of other food items to replenish stock.
Almost half the shoppers were wearing masks. Many were wearing gloves.
I did both.
We are not going to be able to do complete isolation, but in general, we stick to areas that are known to have very few cases, if any, and do the personal protection etc.
I guess I won’t be going there then. They can kiss my ass. At 72, I’m not standing outside for anyone.
LOL!! I'm diabetic. Don't do insulin, and probably will never have to, but I like to cheat every now and then, and have a Hostess cupcake, or a candy bar as a treat. I was in Walmart yesterday, and bought a bag of the marshmallow Circus Peanuts I like, a bag of mini Nestle's Crunch bars, and a bag of M&M's. I figure if there's a possibility that I'll be dying of the virus, at least I'm going to die happy.
I will never have anyone pick out my food for me, or have it delivered. No clerk is going to look for the leanest bacon, or check “use by” dates. No thanks. If I have to crawl through the store to get my own groceries, I will.
I had the same experience at my local Costco yesterday. It was nice to be able to shop without being surrounded by the typical psycho shoppers! Everyone was really nice and laid back.
W-M stock closed today at $119.48 about $5.00 above where it was before the crash started. People need food no matter the circumstances.
Same here. Stand in line for 30 minutes to get some milk? I think not. Guess it is WalMart’s money to lose. But if they want Americans to start getting fed up, start expecting moms to stand in line for milk like a bunch of Russians.
There is a fine line we are closely approaching Soviet Union shopping - empty shelves and long lines to get in. Hopefully Walmart will realize that they cannot sustain themselves in this fashion. Of course they are betting that this will be short lived.
Walmart is also blocking access to nonessential parts of the stores.
I stopped by my local walmart today at 2 PM and they had already started this. Parking lot not even half full and there was a line outside. This is going to be a cluster disaster. This weekend was already going to be busy because of first of the month payday buyers. My advice is to avoid walmart this weekend.
Started here in Atlanta today. I needed one item. When I saw the line outside (jammed together, of course), I decided I no longer needed the item.
Same. Went to my local grocer instead. I will never wait in line outside to shop at a Walmart. This is not the Soviet Union.
I was disappointed to see the hours reduced. I had gotten use to going at 11:30pm when few people were in the store. Now I go early in the morning, before the air can get contaminated much.
I also don't like that I can't get more than 1 gallon of milk or 1 carton of eggs because it means I have to make more trips to the store. But I understand if there are shortages.
If I were a stocker there, I'd really appreciate having a period of time I could stock without customers walking around me.
Distancing within the store makes sense. But if it results in long queues outside, that could be counterproductive.
Our walmart has a queue set up outside. I've yet to see anyone waiting outside.
I went yesterday afternoon to pick up plants at the garden center. But they had locked the door to the garden center. There was no line in the queue, but there was enough cars in the parking lot, that I decided to pass. I went to a small coop and picked up a couple of plants.
Then went to Walmart again this morning. And got the rest of the plants. Selection was limited. A guy coughed just after I had checked out. And of course he didn't have a mask on and didn't even try to cover the cough. I had my mask on but had taken the glasses off for some reason. So I through the glasses on quickly, and held my breath as i walked past him.
I almost tried to go back through the registers to get out without walking anywhere near the guy, but I figured would just cause chaos.
I am so glad to see Trump now encouraging everyone to cover their face. I saw more people this morning with masks, so the tide is turning.
This is insane but walmart will make things worse. Now you will stand in line outside close together waiting in all kinds of weather to get inside plus they will block you from buying “non-essential” items.....
Just go to the local grocery store nearby!
The following will be happening at all Walmart stores before very long.
Walmart in Williston is letting customers know it is not offering “non-essential” items for purchase. The store roped off a large section of its store to comply with the governor’s order April 1, 2020. (Photo: APRIL BARTON/FREE PRESS)
What items are considered ‘non-essential’?
According to the news release, large retailers must cease in-person sales of items that include, but are not limited to:
Arts and crafts items.
Beauty supplies.
Carpet and flooring.
Clothes.
Consumer electronics.
Entertainment (books, music, movies).
Furniture.
Home and garden.
Jewelry.
Paint.
Photo services.
Sports equipment.
Toys.
Access to aisles or sections of the store that contain these items will be restricted. Retailers that sell essential goods such as food, beverages and medicine are still allowing in-person sales of those items.

Im still trying to wrap my head around this need to these big box stores these days. My local Food Lion isnt perfect, but it hasnt let me down yet. Knock on wood.
I really miss Wegmans tho. But, Its just not worth it.
Because too many have proven incapable of maintaining their distance - stores are trying to no be part of the problem as we see if a couple weeks of being extra cautious can actually achieve results.
We're a nation of whiny, sniveling crybabies now.
