Certainly most cultures have moral provisions for fighting outsiders, but given that Christian societies have also found moral provisions for battles and crusades, I don’t think you’re making any case that belief in a Supreme Being is the genesis of the social contract.

Let us not forget that Hitler rose to power in a Christian nation, complete with vast cheering crowds. The vast majority of the people got behind Hitler until their fortunes changed on the eastern front.

I’m not quibbling about anything. I’m saying that the notion that the level of cooperation necessary to group survival can be based on assessing how you want to be treated and assuming that’s probably how others want to be treated as well... is not some incredible breakthrough that no one thought of till Jesus.
One person with strong anti-Nazi and anti-Hitler sentiments will surprise you: Admiral Canaris, head of German military intelligence. He tried to leak information to the Allies, but they never acted on any of that material because it was obvious that it came from the highest levels.
