We should be good to go here in the Albuquerque metro. Were at 5,000 to 6,000 feet here (my house is at one mile up according to my GPS), and the thinner atmosphere at this altitude really lets the sun shine through. Stuff that would have lasted decades on my patio in my home state of Idaho lasts maybe a couple of years here.
I wonder if cooking food in a microwave will make a difference?
Microwaves are geared to vibrate water molecules, so the waves likely wouldn't directly affect the virus, but would through the heat it generates.
Traditional cooking probably exposes the virus to heat for a longer period. My guess is that traditional cooking is the better of the two.
That said, I will continue microwaving anything that's convenient to do.
Thanks.
“No, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cures.”
It’s the same illogical mess liberal use to try to ban guns and free speech. “If it saves just one life!”
And how do you plan on measuring the YV light as to whether its escaping?
The germicidal UV lamps for not produce far UV spectrum do that will not help you
Other than that youre good to go
Course you might die of stroke or heart disease from all the stress youre building up
It will be so nice without all the old people around judging Millennials, and there’ll be inheritance money, too!
OK BYE BOOMER!
450F for 15 minutes (frozen pizza) means that the frozen pizza people will be just fine. :P
"Research into similar coronavirus strains has shown that, in general, coronaviruses are stable in freezing temperatures and have been shown to survive for up to two years at -20 degrees Celsius, explained Dr. Mohamad Mooty, Department Chair, Infectious Diseases, Medical Subspecialty Institute, at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Really, really need the link to the studies. WHAT are the similar strains?
Given that studies on SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, two recent coronavirus outbreaks, showed that viruses could survive for up to 72 hours at the average temperature of a fridge (4 degrees Celsius), Dr. Mooty said, It is safe for us to assume that the virus responsible for COVID-19 might be similarly persistent.
Maybe so. So let's see the research.
If the new coronavirus is as persistent as its predecessors, it could survive on surfaces in freezers long after authorities aim to have suppressed the pandemic living on food packaging in a freezer, for example.
While we do not know the specifics of how long this virus can survive on surfaces, it is best to be safe and act as though it is able to survive on surfaces in freezing temperatures for anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of years, said Dr. Mooty."
Actually, now we do, there's been research on how long COVID-19 can survive on surfaces.

Yeap.
I Emerils Mighty Meaty Meatloaf last night and is just awesome and I would have it again anytime.
Speaking of food it reminds me that Smithfield ham is owned by communists in China now...Ill never buy it again. About 240 people came down with it a month after Chinese owners visited the plant.
92 Celsius is almost boiling.
For 15 minutes?
Baloney.
Yeah i call bullshit on that one
Under an hour exposure with a UV sterilizer is typical for a surgical suites equipment. A Far-UV source (new technology) requires less exposure for any application.
But the new ones they are talking about are still in the research lab. They have not been manufactured even in a first run test let alone at scale
Current far UV is not available for home use.... even though I see all the get kicked de ya lights out there. Those are scans folks. Dont waste your money
A Durk Pearson fan? I followed him for years back in the 80s.
“Now why would you want to help the same hospital who wanted you dead?”
Because it’s not the hospital you are helping, it’s other patients, that’s why. Also, it’s possible that he was luckily sent home to die, which gave him the opportunity to keep on living. amen
