On Monday, 80 million Economic Impact Payment checks go out by mail. While stimulus checks have already gone out through direct deposit, this is the first round of stimulus checks going out by mail.
Postal service inspectors and Virginia Coronavirus Task Force will be out in full force.
This is a top priority all the way at the top of our agency down," said Postal Service Inspector Michael Romano.

Sounds like a rousing endorsement for vote by mail. /sarcasm

Excellent point
The IRS website was of no help at all with this info. Read a few days ago that the snail mail checks would take weeks or months to distribute but no more info than that. This article clarifies it.
Site won’t let me set up direct deposit.
The way it works is that the LOWEST income goes in the first batch. I personally know a gambler who “made” $5000 last year so he gets his first..
Hopefully, there is method to the disbursal.
Specifically, low income people first. My wife and I are fortunate as we really do not need this money so, we are content to receive it whenever it arrives.
There are very many who are in an opposiye position. We hope, pray, and trust that President Trumps people are savvy enough to understand this.
Me neither. Tried five times. Nada. Called the tax man, waiting on a return call. Knowing my luck I'll get it the day after the world ends

"this is the first round of stimulus checks going out by mail."
This is the first round of checks and it will take two months. There could be more rounds so they might not mail the next round until the first round is finished.
Gun stores will be open. Last week on the day when stimulus money hit the bank accounts a local gun store here sold more guns than they had the entire prior week.
I wonder if all the direct deposit monies have been sent. I know someone who hasn’t gotten hers. She’s on SS disability, doesn’t make enough to file taxes. She gets her SS money via direct deposit.
I don’t badly need the money either. But I shouldn’t have had to look elsewhere to find out exactly what’s happening.
My neighborhood has a sometimes problem of mail getting stolen. I only keep an eye out on the mailbox when I expect something important. Would be nice not to have to keep an eye on the mailbox for a check that hasn’t even been sent to me yet.
I have not received mine either I receive SSI and it is direct deposit, MANY on SS have not received theirs!! I believe they are going through tax returns first then SS!!
I set up direct deposit on the site but they’re mailing me a check anyway. Ugh.
Last I head the direct deposits were still being done.
Why? So incompetent?
oh I know. it's stupid guberment.
I got nothing, even with direct deposit on file. They screwed up the SBA program as well. The Federal government is completely useless.
Maybe its a default message until your check hits.
Sounds like it, from another thread.
My experience:
I am qualified to receive funds.
Ive had direct deposit social security for several years.
I pay income tax every year, filed through 2018.
I have never had a refund.
The IRS web site say they have been unable to determine if I am qualified.
Huh?
I know several people who really need the stimulus as well, and got nothing as well. Also know businesses left out of the loan program, waiting on the bitch Pelosi to finish her damned ice cream and get back to D.C. to refund the program.
Maybe you too much?
