New York City’s top health official says city’s confirmed coronavirus cases are ‘tip of the iceberg’.

Confirmed coronavirus cases in New York City are just “the tip of the iceberg,” New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Oxiris Barbot said Thursday, adding that “close to a million” residents have probably been exposed to Covid-19.

More than 147,000 people in New York City have so far tested positive for Covid-19, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

“That really I think is the tip of iceberg for a number of different reasons,” Barbot said at a news briefing. “New Yorkers have been heeding our advice that if they have mild symptoms, at this point in time, when you’ve got community-wide transmission, having a test result isn’t going to change what we’re going to tell you to do.”

I wonder if that person is familiar with how the term “tip of the iceberg” is typically used.

It’s counterintuitive to many but a high silent or undetected infection rate is good news.

Depend upon this good news to be sensationalized by the press in hopes it will scare the masses.

If this is true then it blows Fauci’s doom story to hell meaning most people don’t get it or don’t know that they did.

The liberal/progressive/green utopia of high population density cities with heavy mass public transport is showing it’s downside.

I’ll stick to flyover country.

The upside is that those places will develop herd immunity first though.

To get Biden elected. . .but I don’t think it will work. Fauci appears to be deep state and connected to both Hillary and Bill Gates who want a captive audience for their ‘vaccines’ and the Good Lord only knows what other mischief.

"New Yorkers have been heeding our advice that if they have mild symptoms, at this point in time, when you’ve got community-wide transmission, having a test result isn’t going to change what we’re going to tell you to do."

Stay home... Rely on others in your household to go shopping for you... And remember to stay close to others in your household so they can get infected, and then infect others, and so on an so forth...

Isolating the sick makes sense... Isolating the sick with those who are healthy is insanity.

Lock downs kill.

Look, there is a burgeoning community of Chinese in the New York City area, especially in northern Queens borough. And direct flights from Beijing and Shanghai to New York City. There is very likely ample evidence like San Francisco and Los Angeles, there was a large spate of unusual colds and flus in the New York City area, likely the first wave of COVID-19 infections brought over by mainland Chinese visiting New York City in December 2019 and January 2020.

The antibody tests the state ran this week have been released. 21.5% of NYC residents are said to have had the virus and had the virus run its course. That is around 1,800,000 people. That brings the city’s fatality rate down to around 0.006. It likely raises the silent asymptomatic rate to 85%.
And you are correct the media will raise the silent number as a mortal threat to life, even though these people are long past being contagious.

Most NYC residents were exposed to coronavirus on the massively overcrowded subway trains BEFORE the lockdowns.
Almost all New York cases and deaths came affer the lockdowns.
Death rates are far far lower than official figures cause the denominator is far higher and the numerator is really much lower from inflated death figures.

It proves that physical containment is impossible. However many are going to die from this bug are going to die from it. It’s not a question of “if” but “when.”

All we are doing is slowing the progression to an inevitable outcome at the cost of destroying our country.

Yup it’s written in the leftist handbook.

Each day, the media most addicted to bending over and getting dorked by leftist cr*p, must do the following:

1: At least one article on climate change.
2: At least one article on how bad the Wu Flu is.
3. At least one article on how much better the world is now that the Democrat governors are ruining our economuy.
4. At least three article on Orange Man Bad.

Hopefully, they’ll soon run articles on what happened to all those governors and media folks - they have disappeared with no traces and for some reason our national mood has gotten much more optimistic.

agreed...if anyone wants to tell the truth and be honest, a publicly announced high infection rate is good news but the lying media will spin it...

‘So why did wr destroy our economy?’

because it conditions the populace, at least the younger portion of it, for ‘The Greening of America’, greening referring to the socio-political landscape of the media-academe vision...it prepares the people for tasting poverty, and the necessity to do without that we have not had in this country since post WWII...the leftist power structure, which will take over quite soon, will tolerate nothing short of a complete obliteration of the capitalist system of business, preparing us for a pallid hybrid economic norm in which we we know shortages and hunger...

absolutely; we’ve managed to achieve both of the bad outcomes, instead of one or the other...
