Gun stocks have skyrocketed as protests and riots continue throughout the United States following the death of George Floyd.
The soaring stocks came while rioters set cars ablaze, smashed property and looted businesses across the country as activists protested the death of Floyd, a black man who died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes, video of the incident showed. Derek Chauvin, the officer, has been fired and arrested on third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges.
A number of ammunition and gun makers were trading sharply higher after the weekend of nationwide riots, including Sturm, Ruger & Co., ammunition maker Vista Outdoor, Gunmakers American Outdoor Brands and the taser stun gun maker Axon Enterprise, Fox Business reported.
Sturm, Ruger & Co. increased 9.5% to $68.24, while Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. increased 16% to $13.66, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Went long on both RGR & SWBI yesterday. So far, so good. I’m not an investment advisor, but I think these issues still have some room to run. Your mileage may vary.
If you folks don’t have weapons & ammo by now, you are a day late and hundreds of dollars short.
POTUS needs to put out an executive order. Every household will be required to have a gun. Doesn’t have to be adhered to but it sends a message.
Just saw a post on a FB gun page where some guy was flabbergasted that there was no .300blk anywhere to be found.
What a genius.
Army vet friend of mine who allowed his wife to order him to “not own weapons” is now looking.
I laughed at him.
Now’s a good time to sell any unwanted personal weapons.
Hah...aren’t I being silly.
Sounds like Obama’s decree through the ACA that everyone must purchase health insurance.
I’m all in favor of every law-abiding citizen being armed and well trained and practiced. I think it would drastically reduce all crime. But I will not and never will be in favor of government forcing people to purchase things they don’t want to buy. That’s authoritarian dystopia and I’m not on board. The purpose of government is to provide the organization and coordination for people to secure their own rights and the rights of their fellow citizens. It’s not there to coddle people or make decisions for them like what products or services to buy. I didn’t support the mandate when it was health insurance in the ACA and I don’t support any other mandate like it.
Things like COVID-19 and the Floyd riots are waking people up to the need to be prepared for systemic breakdowns. Let those smart enough to see the big picture and who care enough about themselves and their families come to that on their own. There is no need to force it.
Lucky I didn’t have a cup of cofveve in when I read that. That’s like “How many guitars to you need?” Duh! All of them.
Gun stocks: I’ll bet synthetic, adjustable are selling the most.
Then rubber, walnut, plastic, stag, pearl, etc. (sadly not Ivory).
Quilters say Sewing Machines are not like Husbands.
You can have more than one.
Your gun IS health insurance, and life insurance, and property insurance.
“If you folks dont have weapons & ammo by now, you are a day late and hundreds of dollars short.”
My local Rural King has maybe 7-8 guns left and none of the most popular ammo.
I laughed at him.
I had friends like that when I was in the Air Force.
Since I'm perceived as a "gun nut", I've had multiple requests for recommendations on "What should I buy?". Even more laughable is; "What should I buy to defend my home and family...for under 300 bucks?"
Meanwhile, gun shops are either closed or their shelves are empty. Internet gun sites are like a list of inventory that is "Temporarily out of stock".
I've had both since the early days of the Obamanation. (I don't think I'll ever sell them. They have a calming effect on me at times like this.)
I am trying to think of a way to short urban real estate and go long suburban/rural real estate.
As Scott Adams said, I think cities are "done".
I can only SMH at these late bloomers.
You can always refer them to gunbroker.com.
Most dealers there are charging inflated prices however.
