I posted a lengthy account from an ER doctor this morning

Only a few of his staff have gotten the virus. He has treated over 500 patients. He said masks work.

It’s about not risking other people’s health or lives.

Then why don't we wear them perpetually?

I went on the PA health department snitch website and reported Wolf’s cabinet business because none of their employees were wearing condoms

I know a guy whose 91 year old aunt died of COVID in a nursing home.

She shared the room with her 94 year old husband. Despite sharing a room with a woman who died of COVID he did not become ill.

He did not even test positive.

And no, he was not wearing a mask.

Your anecdotal story does not mean this virus is not contagious

It means they should look at his blood type and his T cells to see if he fought it off before he had enough viral load to test positive

T cells are fighting this off in some people. More studies are being done

So..it did not kill a 94 year old a few feet away from a woman who was dying. But a 32 year old in a supermarket needs to wear a mask?

N95 is not the gold standard everyone keeps wanting to make it. However they can be quite effective if the fit correctly and are actually used correctly. N95 filtering facepiece respirators are air-purifying respirators certified by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to have filter efficiency level of 95% or greater against particulate aerosols free of oil and greater than 0.3 microns in size. Here is a really good article about N95 effectiveness against Covid-19: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/06/11/fact-check-n-95-filters-not-too-large-stop-covid-19-particles/5343537002/

And one about how they would be generally ineffective in general public use: https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/04/commentary-masks-all-covid-19-not-based-sound-data

Either source can be believed or not, but from my viewpoint the information in them appears sound, and mirrors my experience in the realm of having used respirators and other PPE for many things including dangerous chemical usage in aerosol form throughout a large portion of my 49 years on this planet.

You missed my point

This virus is an unknown

You do not know how your body is going to respond.

I posted this week how a healthy fit 38 year old who ate right.. medical device worker died from it. The employer did a wellness check when she didnt show up for work.

I have also posted a 28 year old who refused to wear a mask, partied with his buddies in California..now has it, his GF has it, his 6 buddies have it...they arent terribly sick yet......and he is out spreading it right now.

The fact is YOU do not know how your body will respond if you get it
It is Wuhan Roulette.

It is CRAZY to think just because a 94 year old didnt test positive that you couldnt possibly get it

But hey, go have a Wuhan Let’s Catch Covid and get it over party

You just keep digging yourself deeper.

It seems you’re trying to compare an electrostatic precipitator type of air purifier with a face mask (I wasn’t about to pay for the full article, just to confirm that). The key difference is the gaps (plate separation) — over 3,000 nm vs ~ 30 nm for masks. Electrostatic forces are subject to the inverse-square law. If 10,000 volts are required for a 1/8” gap (> 3,000 nm), then, just over 10 volts would be required in a cloth mask.

I paid attention in some of my college physics classes.

Frankly at this point I’d rather die from it than put up with much more of this bullshit.

Find someone who is walking while chewing gum, and ask them to explain that to you.

Wolf’s order says simply “a cloth face covering”.

So an Alyssia Milano crocheted mask would qualify.

This is not about health.

I doubt that is true

I do highly recommend for those that have to wear them for work to look into a face shield alternative. It’s comfortable and very doable. It will also provide some protection if you interact with the public.

I personally think workers wearing masks are going to have other problems from wearing those masks for 8 hours a day

No honestly, I have not. Thanks for your input, but I am still not wearing masks outside. It’s bad enough being suffocated at work.

We have had 5 cases where I work, 2 weeks ago, all asymptomatic, even the 93 year old. So, I think the virus is weakening.
