Typo: ...taking zinc WITHOUT a form of zinc ionophore is what I meant to type.

1000 mg of Vitamin D would put you in the ICU in no time.

Yes its a very good combination. People don’t have to die from this virus. Everything we need is available to us and the iternet makes it all obtainable, delivered to our door.

I think if you use tobacco in any form, you probably need a lot more Vitamin C than 1000 mg. daily.

We take a lot more Vitamin D than that, too - especially since we’ve been stuck teleworking at home, during these endless, hot months.

When I worked on-site, I would go outside on breaks and get some sun. My perception is that, for some reason, when people work from home, they don’t even give themselves breaks - they just stay glued to the computer.

We’ve got another month or so of optimal Sun, at least in my area. Everybody should go out and EXPOSE themselves to it, as often as possible.

Good point. I can do that by going out on my porch.

I think you need over 4,000 in D3 for the danger level, but yes, I would stay below that. See
https://www.livescience.com/42481-vitamin-d-supplement-facts.html

We all got the endless message that excess Vitamin C washes through your system.

Other Vitamins don’t do that and have toxic levels as you point out. But this is best measured by a Doctor in blood tests rather than just dosage levels. Some people, like me, have special needs so I get monitored and vitamin supplements checked out by nutrionists working with a Doctor.

Zinc has an upper safe level as well. We all need to stay well informed, not just from some website.

He may have typoed mg for IU.

1000 mg of Vitamin D = 25,000 IU. People take up to 10,000 IU Vitamin D so that is only 2,500 mg, and that is on the extreme end. Many people take 1000-5000 IU or 250-1250 mg. So yeah, 10000 IU would be dangerous level. I am sure it was a simple typo. It is easy to make a basic mistake knocking out quick posts. I do it all the time.

People have to distinguish between fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins, as well. The latter generally ‘wash out’; the former generally build-up.

However, even some of the ‘wash out’ vitamins - the ‘B’ complex, especially - need to be taken in certain ratios to one another, or complications can arise. (This is why you will see bottles of B vitamins in the drugstore calling themselves ‘balanced’.)

Minerals can be complicated, too.

But none of it is ‘rocket science’ - you just have to find good, recent books and studies on the subject.

(Not a doctor - never played one on TV.)

Wait, I think I still screwed up my math above. Sheesh!

1000 IU is 25 mcg. That is what I meant to say. So never mind my math above. My point is, he may have meant IU instead of either mcg or mg. I don’t know. IU seems to be the most common unit of measure discussing Vitamin D.
