Braves’ owner is Liberty Media and has always been tight on the budget for the team.
I sent the team a message on July 22nd with my remarks about them honoring blm. I also sent a copy of the ticket from the first game I was in attendance in Atlanta from 1989.
The Braves did respond.
Here is my message -
Message:
As a longtime fan of the Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball, I have to draw the line and say enough is enough. Sports and baseball, in particular, were meant as an escape from the world around us. Including diversity, gay rights, and now black lives matter, I will no longer tune in, turn on or purchase any Atlanta Braves items. I paid over $400 in tickets to the last game of the season against the St. Louis Cardinals, plus I spent over $300 in dinner, drinks, and sports paraganglia that night. Consider the fact that I also went to over a dozen games last year, subscribed to MLB TV, and actively listened to the Braves on the radio. Now multiply that times 10s of thousands of fans who feel the same way as I do. I hope that it hits you and every team in the pocketbook.
I work too hard for my money to get punched in the face by an organization that I supported for so many decades. Getting rid of the Chop cost the Braves a chance to beat the Cardinals and now you are continuing your losing ways by completely removing it altogether. It may not be an important thing for you, but for fans like me, it most definitely is important.
I pray that none of the Atlanta Braves players kneel during our National Anthem.
Regards,
And what was their response?
Switch to rugby. They're playing before packed crowds in New Zealand right now. Probably the only live contact sports in the WORLD. And no rugby player is going to kneel for his (or her--yes, there is woman's rugby) national anthem. Heck, the players, coaches, and fans all sing the words.
It really is time we got over professional sports altogether.
Thank you for reaching out and for your support of the Braves. We will share your feedback with our leadership team and sincerely appreciate you sharing. Our organization has not abandoned the tomahawk chop, and feedback from fans, players, and the Native American community are top of mind while evaluating the game day experience.
Again, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts and will pass them on.

And what was their response?
I have no idea who is kneeling or who isn't, though.
But, baseball is generally not shoving propaganda down its fans' throats like the NBA.
“The next time America’s armed forces are called to protect and fight, kneelers can be on their own.”
Good idea. All kneelers, members of blm and antifa should be tattooed and micro chipped.
Given the size of player salaries, a sharp reduction in revenue could quickly force the leagues into Chapter 11. Play ball.
Where can I watch rugby games?
I hope everyone who took a knee never plays a other inning of baseball. And I mean that.
I think the cardboard fans behind home plate should jump the fence and kick the butts of the kneeling players. lol
The first time, while out eating, when I saw the cardboard fans I couldnt control my laughter. Still crack me up when thinking about it. I love baseball but I dont watch it any longer and dont give a crap what they do...period end of story.
As long as coaches and owners are okay with “taking a knee”, there won’t be any retribution coming from management. The fans who withold the moola for tickets will fix everyone’s butt.
Those cutouts and the canned cheers...like bad sitcom laugh track.
Just couldn’t watch more than an inning...then just quit.
Where can I watch rugby games?
I can watch those girls kneel all day long!
Long time SF Giants fan. Lifelong Red Sox fan, NE Patriots fan. GS Warriors fan. These sports are dead to me....
I get that, but Sports Talk radio, especially in Atlanta ( TheFan)all they do is spout the league BS.
I do not even listen to sports radio anymore.
It gets better, I am a Nielson Rating household and we get to influence ratings and make a few bucks too.
On SkySport in Australia and New Zealand. In the USA with ESPN+ and on YouTube. Highlights of games are found here:
