The American Journal of Psychiatry (AJP) has released a correction to a 2019 Swedish study which drew as its primary conclusion that individuals who claim to be transgender experience mental health benefits following gender-affirming surgeries.
After reanalysis, the Swedish studys conclusion was that neither gender-affirming hormone treatment nor gender-affirming surgery decreased the need for mental health services of those claiming to be transgender.
Overlooked were key data of completed suicides, healthcare visits, prescriptions, and hospitalizations for the litany of other medical or psychological diagnoses potentially related to gender-affirming treatments. These omissions suggested cherry-picking data in order to obtain the desired results.
The physicians observed findings from another Swedish study from 2011 one they described as perhaps the best of its kind. When followed out past ten years, that study draws the conclusion that the group of participants with reassigned sex had 19 times the rate of completed suicides and almost three times the rate of death and in-patient psychiatric care due to any cause, when compared with the general population.
The former psychiatrist in chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital ended sex reassignment surgeries at Johns Hopkins Medical School in the wake of a study that found patients undergoing the surgeries showed no improvement in their mental or social health.
The authors observed faulty studies are often cited by transgender industry advocates as evidence why parents should allow children and adolescents to take puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and even have transgender surgeries such as double mastectomies:
These unethical surgeries are receiving funding by the very NIH [National Institutes of Health] that claims to be working to correct problems of irreproducibility. These experiments are beyond reproducibility problems: they are ethical failures by which doctors cause long-term harm to children and adolescents, all based on political activism supported by faulty science.

How many adolescent lives have been ruined by "treatment"?
Is it really medicine if it doesn't help you. Doing this on children is child abuse.
Stop suppressing this information so young adults can make an informed choice, knowing it won't give them a better outcome in life.
Original conclusion was 2 + 2 = 5.
Now it is 2 + 2 = 4?
Patient: I am unhappy.
Doctor: If I were to mutilate your genitals, would that make you happy?
Patient: I dunno. Let’s give it a shot.
What a surprise that most of these gender confused low-self esteem people could probably find a simple benefit in rock climbing or sky-diving or lifting heavy weights twice a week. Maybe learning chess would help? I sincerely believe their sexual confusion lies in low self-esteem. They look towards their body, rather than mind. Just hit some baseballs for males; hit some volley balls for the females. Or learn martial arts to fight. Got hormone problems? Get a shot or take supplements. I’m sick of this crap - I don’t know what I should be. XX = female. XY = male. Female tomboys and weakling males have existed forever. Doesn’t mean they should mutilate themselves to join the fashionable Rainbow club.
This is lefty propaganda science's version of NYT and other fiction publishers correcting the most important facts 5 weeks later on page 58.
Imagine that: the mentally ill are mentally ill.
Obviously the answer is not to inject children (or adults) with hormones and cut up their genitals. It may be better to address environmental and dietary exposure first and see if in a couple years one doesn't feel 'better'.
Are there any studies of children (or adults) being treated with hormones consistent with their natural gender?
Placating the mentally ill is thier way of therapy
Ten bucks says that the suicide rate of “transgenders” is *ten times* higher than that of your typical faggot or dyke.
In the Obama thing those who were in military service could get their sex “fixed” but not their teeth.
Trust. Experts. Always.
Two words: Laura Perry
The article I read said that they found at least one surgeon (in Britain) who was willing to amputate a healthy limb from such a person.
The human mind is prone to all sorts of delusions. And there are some physicians who are willing to placate such people.
I'm guessing that this is the origin of the tale of the King with No Clothes.
He was not the only one that had this delusion - it was “a thing” at the time, with numerous people afflicted with it. It lasted for 150 years.
Not unlike the mass hysteria of mostly girls all through out history (crying girls in Malaysia, screaming girls in Massachusetts, etc.)
Since 2010 the number of boys identifying as girls is up something like 100% (double). The number of girls identifying as boys is up something like 2,400%!
From Wiki: “Concentration of the glass delusion among the wealthy and educated classes allowed modern scholars to associate it with a wider and better described disorder of melancholy.”
Interesting. The majority of girls thinking they are boys are white girls from upper middle class families and above.

A great documentary. “The Trans Train”. The focus is on a girl that wants to become a boy, but then after several years realizes that she was wrong.
So sad. She became a Guinea Pig. But now she knows that she is a female. However, the hormones and stuff have forever affected her voice and her looks.
So sad.
The primary cause is the teaching of gender fluidity in public schools. Even as young as kindergarten.
They are purposely dumbing down and confusing the youth.
Shocking.
Treating a mental illness with mutilation via surgery and drugs doesn’t work....
It never happens. The abuse only gets worse/
But by then the person is so messed up mentally that they can't function except to engage in self-harming behaviors. And while there's plenty who will think that the tough-love approach works, it doesn't when they are in that stage. Simple honesty but with compassion does work - along with a drumbeat of "go get professional help" which sometimes helps and sometimes doesn't.
