I think a more appropriate analogy would be where the GOP is up with less than 2 minutes to play. The GOP has the ball at their own 40, and the Dems have no timeouts remaining. The GOP intends to run down the clock and take a knee at each snap, ensuring the Dems can't get the ball back. The Dems are appealing to the refs, saying that it's not fair that the GOP has the ball, and won't let the Dems have another chance to score and tie or win the game - EVEN THOUGH THOSE ARE THE RULES, AND HAVE BEEN THE RULES FOR AS LONG AS ANYONE REMEMBERS!

2. Their major financial backers are telling them to do whatever it takes to block a Trump nomination.
3. They don’t have the power to block anything, so their only course of action is to engage in pointless political theatrics.

I almost wish President Trump would nominate any random black woman ... just to see Joe Biden get on national TV and claim she isn’t black, and Kamala Harris claim she isn’t a woman.
I don't think she could ever be chosen as president if the election is up to the HOR, even if the Democrats had the majority of states. Looks like it's a selection of the top three presidential candidates only:
The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed;
and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President.
But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote;
a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice.

Note that if the president isn't chosen by inauguration, the vice president elect becomes president, and the VP-E is chosen by the Senate, not HOR.

I wouldn’t rule that possibility out.
Simply because she’s a woman, doesn’t mean they won’t be able to try that smear. After all, there are plenty of cases where women have been guilty of that in our system.

I sick of these impeachment stories. The senate has no obligation to hear the house’s impeachment. It won’t prevent anything.
It’s third overtime due to numerous obvious bad official calls when it should be a comfortable 24 point lead for team R. Team R quarterback is as hot as Montana or Brady at their peak.
