I would think the more direct message is regarding Turkey's interference in Libya, where they are effectively fighting a proxy war with Egypt, and to a point Russia. A little, "You mess around in our backyard, we'll come to yours". Azerbaijan has got to be pretty far down in Egypt's priorities right now. Or maybe it's a favor to Russia in return for support in Libya.

Agreed. I do not like or trust Putin, but we should cooperate on the issues where we agree. Where we disagree, we should pursue our own goals, and only compromise when it is a net “win”. One ofthe reasons I trust Trump over any democrat. The only win they care about is themselves.
