#BREAKING Susan Collins (R-Inc) says Sara Gideon (D) called her to concede the race. Maine Senate over, Collins reelected.
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
Well, all politics is local but not much of a Collins fan here. Probably her last term unless she decides to go all Feinstein/Ginsburg on us and die in her seat.
Having Mitch as majority leader gives the GOP control over which bills come up for vote. A bill that might otherwise pass never gets voted on.
She should now be kissing you know who’s butt... If were not for the Donald, she’d be hitting the unemployment line.
Better to have support half the time, than never.

Yes!!!
Only the mouthbreathers on FR who don’t get that we’re lucky to get even half a Pubbie (that is, Collins) from a state like Maine. She is allowed to vote as a “moderate” when it isn’t critical, since that’s what has helped her to keep getting re-elected, but when push comes to shove, such as with Kavanaugh, she often enough delivers the vote.
Big IF true.
With Maine’s “ranked choice voting” (RCV) — which cost the Republicans a House seat in 2018 — if Collins had “won” but with less than 50% of the total vote, RCV would kick in and Collins could very easily find herself on the short end.
I think you misunderstood the tweet. The other candidate called and said she was throwing in the towel.
yes i guess it is really that simple
which is why i worked so hard for Romney in 2012
thanks
Ah.
Got excited.
Sorry.
It also means the Dems can't pack the Supreme Court.
In the words of Jeb - “Please Clap”
I guess better Democrat lite than the real thing.
“BREAKING: Susan Collins says Democrat called her to concede Senate race”
Did the Dem concede? Or did the Dem contact Susan Collins
and ask her (Collins) to concede?
It is not clear to me what has happened.
Wouldn’t surprise me...it only became a race after she voted to confirm Kavanaugh. Otherwise she probably would have won with her usual 70%. Maine is an interesting place.
“Whoda thunk that Susan Collins winning would be treated as good news?”

same here...a diseased headless monkey could be senator of that stupid state and it wouldnt even matter. We have 4 more years then of this backstabbing RINO b****
I just checked some results in Maine. Collins had 51% of the vote, Giddeon 42%. Even if we need to go to rank choice, the 9% gap is difficult to overcome, assuming Collings drops below 50%.
