Trail life is probably the best alternative at the moment, but looks pretty churchy. Boy Scouts is and always was more military in outlook. It literally means boy “scooters”. As in military scouts, reconnaissance type activity.
It needs just enough church to make it moral, but it doesn’t need to be outdoors Sunday school.
Hell at Russ point I guess anything is better than the homo scouts.
That begs the question. Were they really “manning” the table then?

I was in cubs and scouts in AZ and CA in the late 50’s and early 60’s, Eagle in ‘66, Scout camp staff and leadership in ME in ‘69 and ‘70, District Scout Executive in NJ in ‘72 and ‘73, and den leader and scoutmaster in ME in 80’s and 90’s. Philmont in early 90’s. National leadership has gone far awry.
Girl Scout leadership has always been lezzie. Like way back when I saw a 1960 Girl Scout calendar where the leaders looked like bull dykes (I didn’t know what lesbianism was in those days).
And in our Boy Scout troop, only fathers with sons in the troop were allowed to be leaders.
How can one “unwittingly” join the Boy Scouts?

Being a scout leader in both the scouts BSA (The new name for Boy Scouts) and Girl scout leader, I couldn’t agree with what you said more.
As a scoutmaster I have watched countless young men learn personal and leadership skill that any real man would want for his son. But this requires running the program as it was designed, a youth run program. I once taught a young boy how to lead his troop. For the next 15 years all I had to do was advise his replacements and provide a good example. The older boys teach and lead the younger ones. By the time they turn 18, they are already trained to be leaders of men. They can walk into a job interview and impress any future boss. And it is a rare eagle scout that finds himself standing in front of a judge.
The girl scouts, provide the same leadership responsibilities and education, however, all the troops in both programs are run by adults at the local level. But if the girl scout leaders can’t, or don’t provide that, why shouldn’t the girls be able to go somewhere that does? Why wouldn’t I want my daughter to have the same opportunity?
As a father I have two wonderful kids my son is 22 and an Eagle scout. My daughter is 16 and working towards her Eagle scout. She is also working on her gold award. My wish for all of you is that you could be as proud of your children as I am of mine.
Whatever happens in this country over the next 20 years, I guarantee the young men and women who actually earn the rank of Eagle Scout will be in front leading the way.

Lest we forget it was two Republicans - Robert Gates and Rex Tillerson, who are largely responsible for the progressive policies of today’s Boy Scouts of America.

If I had scouting-age children I wouldn’t let them anywhere near either the BSA or the GSA. But under the BIDEN regime it won’t surprise me to learn that membership is made legally mandatory! If that sounds implausible, perhaps you need to learn what just can mandated under Communist dictatorships.

You know it is ignorance like this that prevent our side from being taken seriously. It is obvious to me you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. And since I have no doubt you won’t consider keeping your mouth shout about things you no nothing about, I will take a few seconds to try to educate you.
Boy scout troops, now known as Scouts BSA, are run locally by adults willing to take the time to educate youth in leadership skills. Scouts BSA troops are owned by the organization that charters them, usually a church.
The decisions that are made at the national level, outside of the writing of the books, don’t change how the local troop works. Here is another hint, the majority of Scouts BSA troops are run by adults with conservative leanings.

Nothing you’ve posted changes the fact that for parents who are not stupid, both the BSA and the GSA are failed organizations being run by anti-American morons who are promoting ideas detrimental to the children under their influence and to our country, So you can sell the BS your slinging to brainwashed young millennials but not to people who remembers what the Scouts were honorable organizations.
They do let boys in that identify as girls.
