A lawyer who represented the Trump campaign in a legal challenge to the Pennsylvania election results was forced out of his post last week as a law professor at Chapman University in California for representing President Donald Trump as a client.
But what especially earned the ire of left-wing activists at the famous conservative legal scholar’s school was that John C. Eastman spoke alongside the president at the Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington. Violence began at the U.S. Capitol during certification of the presidential election results while the rally was still going on at the other end of the Washington Mall. There is no evidence that Eastman, or Trump, did anything unlawful by speaking at the rally.
Nevertheless, Chapman University President Daniele Struppa promptly denounced Eastman for engaging in constitutionally protected free speech. Struppa accused Eastman in a Jan. 8 statement of playing “a role in the tragic events in Washington, D.C., that jeopardized our democracy.”
“Eastman’s actions are in direct opposition to the values and beliefs of our institution. He has now put Chapman in the position of being publicly disparaged for the actions of a single faculty member, and for what many call my failure to punish and fire him.”
Struppa also said, “This week has also demonstrated that this country has a great deal of work to do for social justice and equity,” voicing a standard left-wing talking point.
Lisa Leitz, a professor of “peace studies” at Chapman, was one of 169 faculty members who signed an open letter addressed to the university demanding Eastman be fired. She told a local media outlet that Eastman’s appearance at the rally and his Trump campaign activities have damaged the university.

It’s too late for that .
End the tax deduction for donations to colleges and universities.

This should be required watching for all preachers and Patriots.
Hate to say it but these sick places only understand one thing... money. If no one sends their kids to these places and no endowments, no contributions from alumni etc., they change their tune.
“End the tax deduction for donations to colleges and universities.”
Yes...and end all 501c3s, etc.
Being tenured, he will likely have a great lawsuit, which I expect will be filed this week.
I would sue the socks off Chapman University for discriminatory termination. McCarthyism used black lists to deny due process and civil liberties. Since it violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments, there should be great monetary consequences.
Et tu Chapman University?
The article said there was a “settlement.” There won’t be any lawsuits filed by the law professor.
Hewitt is mudd.
Wonderful. Hillsdale thanks you.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Yes indeed...
Communist Purge Underway & Nothing Is Being Done About It!
He should sue the pants off them. You can’t fire someone because of their political affiliation. That’s big time discrimination!
I remember many years ago when Chapman College was VERY conservative.
I knew guys who attended their “campus afloat,” a ship that went all over the world to exotic ports, including Mombasa, Kenya, where Obama’s Kenyan grandmother claims he was born.
Classes were in session when the ship was at sea.
This is so gross! Seriously EF Chapman Marxist Indocrination center!
On the bright side...
This affirms that any BLM, AntiFa or even SJW tweeter can be fired immediately.
And should be.
I have an idea. If you are conservative and own a business, find out what your employees political views are. If they are progressive, FIRE THEM. Use the excuse that there is a change in business model, etc. If there is a business that the owners are progressive, do not use their business. Two can play that game
Sorry, didn’t see your posting!
“Equity” LMAO!A truly fake term and “justice” is now hollow and meaningless but subject to what the left defines it.
