WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – A test launch of an unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile Minuteman III failed and the cause is unknown and being investigated, the US Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) said on Wednesday.
"An unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile test launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, experienced a ground abort prior to launch. The cause of the ground abort is currently under investigation, and Air Force Global Strike Command is assessing the potential to reschedule the launch", AFGSC said in a press release.
The three-stage land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles of the Minuteman family were originally intended for nuclear deterrence during the Cold War. Today, the LGM-30G Minuteman III is the only land-based ICBM in service in the United States.
It is capable of hitting targets within a radius of about 8,100 miles.
Why do they tell the world these things?
I’d guess lack of training, lack of maintenance, “inclusion”.

I heard that the launch plume plus the contrails produced in the atmosphere contribute massively to global warming. Probably the launch software has been upgraded to Woke 2.13 and somebody didn’t fill out the proper carbon credit offset request.
They have to tell that they are testing a Minuteman missile else somebody might get the wrong idea................
Diversity or sabotage or allowing Chinese Citizens as repair / maintenance / launch officers. (I don’t know that they do, but given POTATUS, and the First Ho, that’s the way to bet, don’t you think?)

Because they tell the world there is a launch scheduled, ocean and airspace areas are closed, so it becomes obvious the launch failed.

So, when it doesn't go as scheduled, announcements are of no consequence.
We ALWAYS advise all the other world nuclear powers this is just a test launch otherwise the risk of them thinking it’s a live launch is too great. They do the same thing well except North Korea little rocketman doesn’t play by the civilized world rules.
