If that is an accurate picture, there's no "could be" about it; that's a noose. But if history is our guide, I'd be willing to bet on the race of the person responsible.

- someone who wants to stop construction and is well aware of the insane overreaction these things cause in crazy 2021 America

- it was not intended to be seen as a noose at all and was used for something normal involving the construction

No takers. It’s astonishing the media still falls for this every time. It’s like the media is Charlie Brown and the people who stage this are Lucy with the football.

I don’t think the people in the media are stupid. They have to know. But it’s the clicks, baby. They’ll write anything for clicks. And, nobody clicks on Elvis’ alien baby stories anymore. One black construction worker who had worked at the site claimed that co-workers made "racial comments" and displayed confederate flags on their vehicles and hats. If true, did he ever report it? And wouldn't it be easy to identify those people if they are presumably the prime suspects?

I imagine that ropes in various configurations might be common at a construction site - to secure gates, to raise and lower things such as tools, and for other purposes.

Would a construction site typically have security cameras to protect the site from off-hours thieving and vandalism?
