It has been an excruciatingly agonizing wait for the families of the victims of the building collapse in Miami-Dade County’s town of Surfside. On Saturday, Gov. Ron DeSantis went to meet them at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside.
Crews have been working overnight, through the rain, and even at the risk of spontaneous fires. Officials said they are doing their best to provide regular updates at the hotel. Still, some relatives are losing their patience.
“It’s not enough,” a distraught mother told DeSantis. “Imagine if your children were in there. You are going to leave here and you are going to take a nice picture. I know you are doing everything you can, but it’s not enough.”

these are condos not apartments. They are individually owned
And all of those inspectors, city managers, owners, and others responsible are all leftwing dems. It’s Miami. The place is a cesspool.
My uncle has a condo not far from here off of Collins and we stay there occasionally. That building was built in the late 50’s. Wonder when it’ll come tumbling down?
People often say things they would never say when over stressed with grief or anger, She is out of her mind with grief. Give her a break. The news paper, msm etc, are a bunch of cockroaches for even printing or posting this. Its disgusting how some people will try and profit off others grief and private moments. Zero shame on the left.
Not sure but I don’t think it was within the governors power to get assistance from foreign countries(ie Israel rescue team)
“ Who owns the building? Who was responsible for its upkeep?”
*****************
Whoever owns it is probably divesting assets at warp speed and transferring money to offshore accts as I’m keying this.
Once the search and rescue part is over the body recovery part starts. Then, clean up of property begins. It hasn’t been mentioned if there was asbestos used in the construction of this building. About forty years ago the banning of it began. However, it was an evolutionary process. So, first responder health as a result of breathing dust from rubble will be a legal issue for years to come, same as with Twin Towers.
“You live in a blue city, lady.”
I’m beginning to think most of the building occupants....how do I say this delicately...aren’t exactly Trump supporters.
Hate to say this but it's looking a lot like twin towers. They are going to have to sieve through rubble to find remains.
Ironically, the folks that perished are the owners of the building.
The dead, acting through their owners association chose not to maintain the property even after being shown the problems. Then they made a conscious decision to continue living there in the face of danger
There are pics of Chris Cuomo walking around there with skull socks on.
She hates the Governor and is using grief to be a bitch. Calling it like it is.
They are moving slowly because every move they make could trigger another slide or the rest the building to fall
How was their reserve for replacement account doing?
By all accounts it isn’t DeSantis or the government to blame but the management of the condo itself. In 2018 a consultant found major issues requiring immediate attention and the condo association ignored it.
Maybe she should have taken an hour and read the inspection reports on the building... I’m sure she’s a democrat who thinks DeSantis should personally check out every building in the state... but that’s not how it works.
So sick of democrats I can’t even feel sympathy for this woman’s loss.
It’s the leftist way — all through history.
Never let a crisis go to waste…
They have all been trying this but most realize it wont fly because people are on to the MSM so for now they have backed off a bit,for now.
Gee ya always have “The Hartford Courant” if your looking for a liberal POS rag
Its here and one is taking aim right now:
