Ahead of Thursday’s pivotal vote in the House on Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) persisted in his opposition to the trillion-dollar price tag.
In a statement on Wednesday, Manchin, who has previously resisted the bill and even publicly called on Democrats to put a “pause” on it, said that he cannot support the trillions of dollars in spending:

Unless it’s all on West Virginia!
Nope, all those here who have predicted that Manchin and Sinema would fold and sign on to nationalizing elections and this $3.5 trillion monstrosity were wrong.
They’ve been wrong over and over and over.
Today, they will merely be wrong again.
We really should do something about these white flag wavers. 🤡
God Morning Mr. Negative.
Peter Doocy reported there is a provision in this bill giving free tuition to illegals. Does anyone know if this is true and how much?
...because playing both sides of the fence can be very ...rewarding.
They already get that in California.
I am still trying to figure out what is the $3.5 Billion for TREE EQUITY ?
What the heck is TREE EQUITY?
How does it cost 3.5 billion?
I don’t. His argument against is based on a fundamental understanding of Economics. I think we maybe found the 1 sane Democrat in DC here
I agree and he’ll cave.
I’m on both sides of the fence here.
On one hand, We all know that Manchin is a 5-star swamp creature and will play kabuki theatre for public consumption. On the other hand, he has his constituents to deal with and may cause trouble for chuckie.
Although I DESPISE manchin, I would love it for just ONE DEM to flip to the R side to slow down the insanity.
It’s amazing how Trump had traitors and turncoats at every corner yet not a single Democrat anywhere at a national level has had the backbone or conscience to step up and put a stop to the destruction of the USA.
you would think there would be at least one democrat somewhere who is saying “my gosh, we are flushing ourselves down the toilet with this madness—I cannot let that happen to the country I love”
Interesting that he could support trillions in spending last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. And the year before that. And on. And on.
It’s just a way to make “planting trees” appealing to progressives.

Manchin/Sinema have also held firm on the filibuster, for 8 months now. Even if they cave tomorrow, they still bought this country that much time - which is more than anyone can say about the 500,000 Republican voters who didn’t bother to show up for the Senate Runoffs in Georgia early this year.
Is Jon Tester of Montana going to get away with about being questioned/pressured from Montanans?
Whats the line on when he folds?
As always, Manchin is not being fiscally responsible, he’s in negotiations for a bigger share of the loot.
You can’t say they are wrong until the bill is dead.
It’ll never die. They will continue to try and pass it till it’s passed.
Anyone seen Dianne feinstein lately?
Exactly

Maybe giving trees the right to vote? Of course the Dems will tell us how the trees would intend to vote if given the right.
