Steak could become a ‘luxury product’ thanks to climate impact, CEO fears

Steak could become a champagne-type luxury because beef isn’t climate friendly to produce, the head of Europe’s top meat processor said.

Danish Crown CEO Jais Valeur told Denmark’s Berlingske newspaper on Monday that beef will eventually become a “luxury product” because of the climate impact of producing it.

“Beef is not going to be super climate friendly. It will be a bit like champagne, namely a luxury product,” Valeur said.

“The beef cattle will be a luxury product that we eat when we need to pamper ourselves.”

Valeur said the way people consume and think about meat is going to need to change in the coming years as meat processing companies face pressure to curb greenhouse gases in the fight against climate change.

It will be a bit like champagne, namely a luxury product,” Valeur said.

That's what beef has been throughout most of human history - an expensive product reserved for the wealthy. The twentieth century's advances made it possible for most people to be able to enjoy a good steak. The environmentalists are working hard to make sure we return to the squalor and poverty our ancestors lived in, because Mother Earth wants it or something.

The Lear jet leftists form the core of the global Inner Party. They will continue to enjoy the finest foods and most advanced gadgets the world has to offer. While deciding your fate for you.

If you work very hard and show unwavering loyalty, you might be permitted to join the global Outer Party. You will be allowed occasional servings of meat and air conditioning. On a rationed basis.

The rest of us will eat insects and swelter. For the good of the planet.

beef will eventually become a “luxury product” because of the climate impact of producing it Democrat/Socialists/Communist economic policies.

Spoken like a true communist.

"You need to change how you think, Comrade. A nice five year stay in the gulag will get your mind right. Only the party can tell you what to think."

This past summer I’ve been snacking on grasshoppers, white grubs, and crickets that I found in the garden while working in there.

The shit’s going to hit the fan at some point and I want to already acclimatized to eating alterative sources of protein.

“All according to plan.....”

I am currently camping in the Oklahoma panhandle in an area where in the past the private and public range land has been full of free range cattle. During previous visits we had to drive very slowly on remote roads to avoid running into large groups and individual cattle on the road. I have yet to see a cow on the open range in the road on this trip.

During this trip we’ve seen very few cattle on the open range and very few in fenced pasture. The difference between today and when we came through this area 8 years ago is striking.

Yesterday we passed by 3 large feed lots which were full on previous trips to this area. This time there were very few cattle in the holding pens. I would guess the feed lots are less than 10% full. Something is very definitely happening in the cattle business here and it isn’t good for supply.

No there’s not, did cattle stop reproducing? No. Same thing with trees. They grow from the gulf coast all the way to the arctic circle. Wood is expensive due to government policy, not supply.
