True. We are fortunate here and in South America - Argentina. We have the room to raise cattle. Lots and lots of cattle. Europe does not have that room and most of their beef is imported. Hence, heavy on the pork and chicken.

I live in rural Texas. If I run low on beef I can always buy a steer to butcher and store in my freezer.
Not me. But if y’all want to give up beef, I will be glad to dispose of what you don’t want.
In the biden economy, beef is already becoming so expensive that it is a luxury item for many!!!!
I am willing to eat grasshopper tacos for some Orthodox fasting days, provided the bugs are not infested with parasites, and are NOT priced as luxuries! Currently, they are only avaable at certain restaurants, and ARE more expensive than beef! PHOOEY!!!!

I’ve a freezer loaded with steaks...and Salmon fillets...
There’s no serious shortage but believe me, the steaks are not what they used to be. A very inferior grade of beef is being used, something that contains inedible material that has to eventually be taken out of your mouth after fruitless chewing rather than swallowed.
In NYC, anyway.
You have to go to a really expensive steak house to get real steak.
Things in Kansas and other places may be different.

I remember that absolutely horrendous, totalitarian remark by Obama in Roseburg, Oregon. At the time, I figured he was done for.
I remember the points about not driving our SUVs and not heating our houses to 72 and expecting other countries to say they are OK with that. But I totally forgot he said we can’t eat as much as we want. What an effing tyrant telling us how much the GD government is going to ALLOW us to eat.
The tax comes when you purchase the Steer. The Rats already thought of self reliant Texans raising their own meat. 2 freinds of mine already bought 5 head at auction to fatten up on their own land. As far as I know there is no way to follow these cows if they slaughter them themselves. This tax is the “pay for” for the package. There will be a gas tax tacked on to what you already pay to subsidize windmills and E-cars. Just container to carry merch from China is now 20K per container, up from about $5K. Just guessing can get you up to 10+% inflation just this year. If the bill is passed, America as we know it is gone. It certainly affects people under $400k a year. We should know by Christmas how bad it will get. WalMart had no bottled water today. Nat Gas will at least double this winter. $5 gas is just a start.
