Steak could become a champagne-type luxury because beef isn’t climate friendly to produce, the head of Europe’s top meat processor said.
Danish Crown CEO Jais Valeur told Denmark’s Berlingske newspaper on Monday that beef will eventually become a “luxury product” because of the climate impact of producing it.
“Beef is not going to be super climate friendly. It will be a bit like champagne, namely a luxury product,” Valeur said.
“The beef cattle will be a luxury product that we eat when we need to pamper ourselves.”
Valeur said the way people consume and think about meat is going to need to change in the coming years as meat processing companies face pressure to curb greenhouse gases in the fight against climate change.

of course it doesn't matter if the inflation or shortage is real or contrived....we are being shafted either way.....
I love a good rib eye....my favorite meat....
Steak is already a luxury product, soon to become a rare delicacy, due to Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab, Joebamma Hussein Obiden and all their World Economic Forum buddies.
And not due to their incompetence, but their intent, and their hatred for us peasants.
Steak has been a luxury product for me my whole life. I wish I could afford it more often.
In other words taxed more than other things.
When do they mandate we eat caterpillars?
We will continue to “pamper ourselves” at least once a week will Fillet or Ribeyes.
If it gets too expensive, we’ll go in on a beef on the hoof with friends. We have some that are already doing it.
Isn't it weird how no one is talking about what's in the bill, but just how much it costs? If this sticks, we'll find cows butchered in the fields with just a leg missing. Deer will last about 2 weeks until extinction.
We know how to hunt. The government is causing the prices to go sky high.

Depending on the person that could be one whopper of a carbon footprint being cleaned up. I’m sure long pig could be used in a split pea, or bean soup.
Every three months you will be rationed four ounces of pseudo-meat from Bill Gates' Lab grown 'meat' factory.
Also, vast wild herds in the Great Plains, the Southeast piney woods (where the Florida Cracker—meaning a redneck—got his name) and the Pampas of Argentina.
Those poor gauchos and cowboys, along with the railroad and cattle drives, changed world wide dining habits...
Anyway, I got enough land to keep a few cows on. Maybe I should start.
Eat the woke...and then there will be plenty of steak available.
In my worls steak is already a luxury item.
Your post reminds me of this TV show:

The elites who obey their alien masters live in luxury, and everybody else lives in poverty.
I liked that show.
First season was the best, of course, but hated that it got canceled.
I will budget accordingly
“I am not eating bugs so piss off. Just think how many people would go along with this? “
Not sure why they’d let public support (or lack thereof) get in the way.

Going to get PRICEY to live on a healthy diet, since Steak is about the healthiest food available, and most of the other very healthy foods are meats. Perhaps it’s time to try to limit the power of the Leftists, rather than give them even more power, in our drive to get rid of RINOs in November elections.
I raise my own cattle. You learn really how few steaks you get out of an animal. We use most all of the animal. slaughter/packing house keeps hide.
I realize not everybody has the land, resources, and support
infrastructure to raise their own animals.
My cattle work out to $1.50 - $2 per pound processed and wrapped in my freezer.
By Hawaii standards that is pretty cheap.
