“furnish them what they need to fight off the Russia invasion because I believe the US needs to keep its word. “

We also gave our word NATO would not move east from Germany.

Our leaders made (and continue to make) too many contradictory promises. This gets us in trouble and, IMHO, is at least partially responsible for egging on Putin. Also, our demonstrable weakness in Afghanistan last summer and our incredibly stupid energy policies - all directed by a senile, old, Leftist, pervert - also provided temptation (we had the same over-promising while Trump was POTUS, but Putin kept his army home). Now don’t get me wrong - Putin gave the order to invade, so he is mainly responsible, and is most definitely FULLY responsible for deliberate attacks against known civilian sites. But that doesn’t absolve us of our stupidity and arrogance.

I wouldn’t trust this administration to get out of a wet paper bag. The only GOP who would, would be neocons like Cheney. They need to explain how this is not a risk.

You go to war with the politicians you have. And they either they make the case to the American people or they do not. Of course, with massive narrative shaping by the media.

I mean what are the other choices? Still believe President Trump is the President? I think Biden is a complete mess. But WHOEVER the President is needs to make the case. I don't see how Biden has done that at all.

In going to war, congress is to follow the constitution, not other congress people. Not their party line.

They’re so stupid.

I think, rather, that America could weather 4 years of worthless leadership under most normal circumstances. Sadly, we do not even have that luxury, at this point.

I would think that most normal people could see the loss that less than two years of the current administration has caused to America. We have been brutalized by COVID and now face the threat of war. At some point, survival has to kick in and cause people to question the legitimacy of a government leading them to ruin.

I hope we get to keep our country.
I am not hopeful because people can’t stop electing and re-electing Bush League Republicans.
They have been encouraging the invasion of the USA for 30 years.

If the people of Donetsk and Luhansk wanted to fight to secede from Ukraine that was their right. You can’t now blame Ukraine for opposing that fight. What you REALLY can’t do now is blame Ukraine for Russia, a country not attached to that fight, attacking Ukraine.

Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union since the 1910s. The Soviet Union was merely Russia’s excuse to subjugate all the neighboring people. The USSR was a cow that fed in Ukraine, but got milked in Moscow. The problem with Ukraine was that it’s a nicer place to live and work than Russia. So a lot of wealthy Russians moved into eastern Ukraine. When the Soviet Union broke up those Russians stayed. Now the Ukraine Russians feel that they have a right to be reunited with Russia. It’s true. They have that right. The right they DON’T have is to take their land into Russia.

” Republican holdouts amid an ever-widening consensus that Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine poses a mortal threat to American interests.”

Widening consensus? OK, how about putting it this way? Are you nameless people willing to have your town/city nuked in the hopes that that sacrifice will somehow help the Ukrainians survive? Those are the stakes.

I believe the US needs to keep its word. When we talked Ukraine into giving up their nukes we promised we would help them

“We” didnt promise them anything. A bunch of corrupt one world liars wrote a check that, as usual, they expect our kids to cash.

No. Simple logic. If Putin wins Soros, Sundowner, Schwab lose. I know who my real enemies are.

American interests = $$$ in the politician’s pockets. Ukraine is a big money laundering center for the Swamp. Biden gives them billions that promply disappears. Bonus for the wankers is little boys and girls. These people are sick.

I have never attacked fellow freepers in all my years here. No need to when on friendly terms with the facts. No honorable person will allow themselves to be bound by “promises” made by the most corrupt, dishonorable group ever. They lie and cheat and murder as a matter of faith. The faster they come down, by whatever means, the better chance we have to survive as an independent nation under God.

Why would we trust Biden and his cronies to help or fight any war?

The level of incompetence and treason is sure to result in a major loss. Just look at our energy dependence on dictators and terrorists.

he can’t even deal with our southern border!

I see a trio of weenies from NBC deep state poked their heads out of the swamp to tell us who they fear above all others - Trump and his 80 million followers.

They represented this country, like it or not. No one disliked Clinton more than me, none the less he was president and legally and morally authorized to sign in our name. If we can pick a choose which president we will obey this country is over. Our word will be meaningless on the world stage and no one will trust us, ever.. too many good men and women fought and died for this country and I’m not willing to give up on it as easily as you are.

And if you think that’s a personal attack buttercup, you are on the wrong forum, you need to go back to Twitter.
