Gov. Brian Kemp has a 38-point lead over former Sen. David Perdue in the Republican primary race for governor in Georgia, according to a new poll.

The poll, conducted by ARW Strategies from April 30 to May 1, found Kemp with 59.4 percent support compared to Perdue’s 21.5 percent support with about three weeks to go until the May 24 primary. Eleven percent of respondents said they were undecided on the race, and three other candidates received single-digit support.

I guess Lin Wood wasn’t the reason David Perdue stunk up the joint two years ago.

Georgia Poll: Brian Kemp Holds 38-Point Lead over David Perdue

If this poll is true, can someone, preferably from Georgia, explain why Georgia republicans are supporting anti-Trump, anti-MAGA Kemp by such a huge margin?

I’m from a neighboring state, but Perdue ran in 2020 for Senate. Did he make a stand against election fraud or did he allow them to steal it in front of his face? Choosing between Perdue and Kemp isn’t really a choice at all. They’re the same type of Republican.

Why on God’s green earth Trump couldn’t have endorsed Vernon Jones and brought this home is beyond me.

This entire fumble is Trump’s self-inflicted wound.

Something like 55% of Georgia’s population lives in the Atlanta metro area. Freepers should stop pretending that Trump’s appeal in rural America and the Rust Belt carries any weight in affluent suburban areas.

Perdue is what happens when you take a crummy senator and run him for governor. A traitorous criminal wins by 38 points. I and others I know are voting for Kandiss Taylor.

I always say voting has two components:
1. You want to give a candidate power,
2. You want to deny a candidate power.

In my experience item two is often the primary motivation for my vote.

Georgians probably by far think it’s more important to keep Abrams out of the governor’s mansion then anything Kemp has done or not done. So, denying a black radical power supersedes a corrupt Kemp.

Yeah, just like the poll that showed JD Vance in a three-way tie with Mandal and Dolan the day before the election.

The actual result was Vance finished 8 points ahead of second place Mandal, who finished two points ahead of Dolan.

These polls are nothing about reflecting the opinion of the voters. These polls are purely for shaping opinion, namely making people believe that the Trump-endorsed candidate hasn't got a chance.

I am STILL going to go vote against him. This Monday, in fact. The ‘poll’ that counts with me are ballots - not internet polls or polls using ‘lists’ compiled by internet data aggregators.

Yep. Reminds me when "polls" showed - and pundits on TV said- on the MORNING of the 2016 POTUS election that Hillary Clinton had more than a 90% chance of winning.
