The Senate on Monday overwhelmingly advanced a $40 billion Ukraine aid package that easily passed the House last week but had stalled in the upper chamber because of an objection from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).
Senators voted 81 to 11 to end debate on a motion to proceed to the legislation, setting up a final vote on the bill for later in the week.

The Ukrainian command issued a statement telling them that they served their purpose (to tie up some of the Russians) and that it’s time to surrender.
I had also heard earlier that the Ukrainians at the steel plant were doing their own negotiations and were through with Kiev, so the Ukrainian statement may have just been to act like they’re still in charge.
What will be interesting will be to see what the other Ukrainian units in Donbas will do, the ones being hammered non-stop. They might finally have enough, and if they’re not Azovs, they’ll at least have a good chance of going back home when the war is over.

oversight added? Nah, the senate voted 81/11 to override Paul’s hold so it keeps moving to a final floor vote. There’s an extra seven billion $ in this thing. These clowns must be drooling over the kickback money they expect. remember this money doesn’t go overseas. It goes directly to defense contractors and some of it barely slows down on its way back to congressional greaseballs. Watch for new boats, new cars, Junkets, and dachas, etc. Seven billion is a lot even split 535 ways.
