Quite the opposite. China could use the existence of this missile system as an excuse for a pre-emptive attack on Taiwan.

Step back a second and consider this. We have the 2nd Amendment in the US. Despite all the gun laws and leftist advances, we have more weapons that citizens. It is a major deterrent to any invasion. May I suggest going against the pressure from the U.S. government (read that as morons from the State Dept. and woke generals from the Pentagon) and issue every able body Taiwanese citizen an AK-47 and 20,000 rounds of ammo (enough to burn out the barrel of the AK). Add to that crate of grenades and one anti-armor weapon per household. That is a deterrent.

You don’t understand the communist leaders of China. They don’t feel the need to justify their actions to you or any outsiders. They will attack when they are good and ready, and not when they secure some “pretext”.

I think they learned their lesson from our embarrassing withdraw from Afghanistan and our giving Ukraine just enough weapons to make some profits for the MIC.
That lesson is they'd be better be prepared to defend themselves because they can't count on us.
Taiwan, Korea, S. Africa and Israel were all in on that development. We know that S. Africa had them before turning them over, and that Israel has them... You can guess why N. Korea never attacked the South, and why China is all bluster today.

You need a good size a-bomb for that. Mounted onto a ground penetrating missile would be ideal. Hit that dam 100 ft below the water level, then the massive water release will destroy much more of it.

But that doesn't mean they'll use tried and true pretexts such as "a distraction from home problems "such as millions of bachelors that can't find women, or shortage of food or other necessities, or bad leadership. Nothing like a foreign intervention to distract the populace (something Biden would do).
One of their primary strikes should be against Three Gorges Dam. Next would be a headwaters dam, which would start a domino effect, taking out other dams downriver.
