Let us assume -- as is widely assumed, but as yet unannounced -- that DeSantis would like to run for president in 2024.

Desantis is not running in '24. Get over it.

DAN MCLAUGHLIN supported Rubio in 2016.

“When this process started, my first choice was Bobby Jindal, my second was undecided between Rubio and Scott Walker.”
from: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3385424/posts

I commented yesterday that half of these people pushing Desantis 2024 are not really for Desantis but are former Jeb and Rubio fans still mad that the Repubic weak losers aren’t still running the party.

Why are the RINO’s like National Review and Zogby trying so damned hard to get DeSantis to run against Trump?

If DeSantis runs against Trump he’s lost my support.

So if DeSantis won the nomination over Trump, and was running against Newsome or even AOC in the general election, you wouldn't vote for DeSantis in the general election? You'd rather see one of those leftists in the White House?

I think we should stick to the Constitution.

Obama should have been enough of an object lesson that they were correct to exclude those born with more than ONE nationality.

I don't think that is correct. I think the primary people pushing DeSantis are conservative Trump voters who do not consider themselves "Trumpers". People who voted for Trump because they liked his policies, even if they weren't that particularly enamored with Trump himself.

The Never Trumpers/RINOs would prefer someone like Youngkin. I'm not saying that to slam Youngkin, but just basing that off various Republicans to whom I have spoke.

Knowing NR, they will probably back:
McMuffin-Carly Forina
Hillary-Buttplug
Newsom-Buttplug
Jeb-Kasich
Liz-Kasich

In other words, anything that gets a RAT win.

“Desantis obviously believes Trump showed bad judgment in giving Fauci such prominence, putting him on stage day after day.”

DeSantis has also said nice things about Trump. Criticizing a mistake is not the same as declaring he is going to run. I’ll wait until there is an actual announcement (which I don’t think will be coming in ‘24.)

It really doesn’t matter which of the possible Republican candidates wins the Presidency. None of them including Trump is going to what needs to be done to start fixing this country’s issues. Washington D.C. figuratively if not literally needs to be burned down.

There is no other city in this country, if not world that has its influence, money and power, all of which completely stink of corruption. God owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology for their destruction for sins that pale in comparison to Washington D.C.

Yes, there are other destructive influences on our country, but they are minor players compared to Washington D.C. I can’t see any Republican President even if backed up by Republican controlled both houses of Congress do anything but put band-aids on our problems.

Plus he was only on the stage day after day in the beginning when he was seen as reasonable. By mid March, the President realized that Fauci’s forecasts and recommendations were usually wrong and benched him.

Can he deliver on the MAGA agenda??? If DeSantis would openly and ardently adopt the Trump program to make America great again, he might well attract some Trump voters.

If DeSantis leaves Florida the state will fall to the Democrats that have been flooding in there from everywhere. DeSantis barely won against the pervert Gillum (arrested for cocaine/sex abuse) in 2019. Gillum’s platform was abolishing immigration and customs enforcement and expanding Medicaid. And he almost won on those issues.

“ Criticizing a mistake is not the same as declaring he is going to run”

Platformung Fauci was more than a “mistake”. It was a disastrous blunder that displayed extremely bad judgment.

Anybody who thinks Trump is going to have a stroll to the nomination isn’t factoring in the Fauci factor. Fauci destroyed lives, and if a Trump challenger runs ads that focus just on reminding GOP voters of Trumps empowering Fauci, Trumps numbers could sink fast. At the very least, Trump needs a primary challenger to force him to promise to stop giving positions as MF power to the swamp. Trump needs his feet held to the fire, because we can’t afford a second Trump term to be swampy like the first

You have no idea what DeSantis thinks.

It’s stupid to second-guess President Trump’s response back before anyone knew the “pandemic” was fake - and Ron DeSantis ain’t stupid.

If I had to guess what DeSantis really thinks about Trump’s actions back in those dark days, I’d guess he’s thinking:

“Thank the Lord I wasn’t President when that fake planDemic hit - you’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t!”

If Trump runs DeSantis can wait 4 years and be the heir to the throne...or if he’s vp maybe sooner considering Trump’s age.
