All the praise he’s getting recently is making me think there might be something wrong with him.

* * *

Right on, EscapeFromBoston! I am another refugee of Baaaston.

Of course, to begin with, this story is a non-starter because of its publisher, National Review, the favorite of all Never-Trumpers.

In fact, knowing National Review is praising Santis is a big warning sign saying, DANGER, DANGER, GOLDEN SACKS aims to BUY YET ANOTHER GOP politician.

And notice who’s silent. Traditional GOLDEN SACKS puppets: Cruz, Rubio, Romney, Haley, and Krispy Kreme are all apparently out of the running now.

It shows how DESPERATE the Never Trumpers are!

Trump benched Fauci in Mid-March. What did Ron do? Pulled a Fauci and ordered a statewide shutdown in April with a 30 days stay at home order. Sounds like Ron made worse mistakes. If Noem was ever to run against Desantis 2028 he could be exposed.

Your efforts at promoting DeSantis would be substantially more successful if they didn’t incorporate bashing Trump.

I support DeSantis for President in 2024.

I don’t bash Trump, who was the greatest President since Washington, and got Roe and Casey overturned.

Both Trump and Pence can have Fauci and Scarf thrown at them by a conservative challenger. Whether such a challenger will step forward is the question. We’ll see after the midterms

“DeSantis is quiet on the fight in Arizona, quiet on the fight in Wisconsin. Didn’t pick a side in Georgia. Quiet on the fight in PA. Easy to have none of Trump’s “negatives” when you never join the battle.” - freeper wiseprince

“ They are “assuming” he wants to run; based on no evidence other than media trying to stir the pot. DeSantis has done nothing to show he is going to or is interested in running in ‘24.”
What about all his fundraising?

National Review has become the voice of the Bush Wing of the party. That wing that talks a good game to its own supporters, apologizes profusely to the “moderates” for being Republican, and kowtows to the media accepting every premise that they advance.

They don’t get it and never will. It isn’t Trump the man that has given rise to a new and better coalition of voters. This isn’t a cult. It is the AGENDA that has given rise to this coalition. If tomorrow Trump were to declare for open borders, offshoring our businesses and neocon war, he would be dumped in a heart beat.

So long as the NR and everyone else in the “elite” conflate the man and the agenda, and continue to do so purposefully, they will be left behind, way behind. DeSantis is popular with many voters because of his AGENDA, not because he is loyal to a single person.

DeSantis, like Trump, promised he would deliver on enacting an agenda. Despite attempts by the left and the media to label him racist and the rest of the usual attacks, he hasn’t backed down, he has doubled down.

The NR? They would apologize and declare how horrid it is that anyone would not be more compassionate to the leftist agenda. The NR and the rest of the GOPe is the battered spouse of American politics. I find that as loathsome as the radical dems.

As one Freeper so eloquently put it, Trump is building a new GOP coalition of working class and minorities while the elites tusk tusk from the golf course.

He's the Governor of Florida. It's appropriate for him to speak boldly on Florida's issues, as well as national issues impacting Florida. He was the single most prominent political opponent of vaccine mandates and shutdowns - hardly a timid or cowardly position.

Smart not to stick his head into races in other states/localities where he doesn't really know the people running.

Ron DeSantis has a Donald Trump problem. How he solves it -- if he can -- will be the first test of an important aspect of presidential character.

The DT problem is that the media, the dems and the swamp are 24/7 against everything he represents, true freedom. Nobody on the right can solve that problem.

DeSantis issued an order at the very beginning of the pandemic when all the data being reported suggested could have a high mortality rate. Unlike most other governor's, he lifted that as soon as there was clear data showing the dangers had been vastly overstated. He took the single most prominent position of any governor in the country opposing mandates and shutdowns, and was blasted by the left for it.

I have no idea what you're talking about when you say that Trump shut down Fauci. I listened to him make public statements on behalf of the administration for the duration of Trump's term. Trump could have actually removed him from power, but decided not to do so. That is probably Trump's biggest policy failure of his Administration.

“Both Trump and Pence can have Fauci and Scarf thrown at them by a conservative challenger.”

Putting Trump and Pence in the same sentence is just silly. Trump is hugely popular whereas Pence is political toast. And neither man’s political fortunes have a thing to do with Covid response.

So, trying to making this an issue against Trump won’t succeed. Nobody blames him for that whole Covid mess except for people that wouldn’t vote for him anyway.

When are you could to give up on this Trump vs. DeSantis tomfoolery?

Nobody is buying it - there is no rivalry - Trump is the nominee if he wants it.

Trump did not announce his candidacy til June 2015, so give it a year and then we’ll see who is running and who is not. Any speculation at this point is just a waste of time.

We’ll see. Trump put Pence in charge of the Covid task force, and named Fauci and Scarf as the “science” leaders. If a conservative candidate enters the 2024, he/she could create some powerful ads to remind voters of how Trump and Pence empowered Fauci and scarf.

With VDH gone, I don’t know why anyone would visit that outhouse.

They are doing all they can to divide us again - I personally hope Trump selects DeSantis as his VP.

“Trump needs a primary challenger to force him to promise to stop giving positions as MF power to the swamp. Trump needs his feet held to the fire, because we can’t afford a second Trump term to be swampy like the first”

There is truth in what you say, however if DS challenged Trump and lost he would hurt his chances in ‘28.

Vote fraud is an issue in Florida, too.

MASSIVE vote fraud. They only secured Florida's electoral votes in 2020 by booting the "election" directors in Palm Beach and Broward.

Other Florida jurisdictions went wild in the streets with ballot box stuffing.

Joey Diapers got a million more votes than Obama Lightbringer 2008, and 800,000 more votes than Shrillary 2016 [remember - the Palm Beach and Broward riggers were still in office in 2016].

Considering DeSants never had a job or career outside politics, what kind of real life experience does he personally have and how can he relate to those in the private sector?

“We’ll see.”

We can ALREADY see - President Trump’s popularity is stronger than ever. No Trump supporters are worried about Trump’s Covid response from two years ago.

Trump supporters aren’t stupid.

They can see through fake impeachments.
They can see through fake PlanDemics.
They can see through fake elections.
They can see through fake Jan 6th show trials.

Trump won’t be blamed for any of those - far from it - they were attacks against his Presidency. If anything, it just makes our support for him grow stronger.
