Low fuel inventories cause special concern in U.S. Northeast (heating oil and diesel)
Washington Times ^ | 8-28-22 | David Sharp

Diesel and heating oil supplies in the Northeast are more than 50% below the recent average, raising concerns that an extreme weather event could cause supply disruptions, federal officials said.

Fuel supplies are lower than normal across the country for a variety of reasons, including the war in Ukraine. But it’s the worst in the Northeast.

Diesel fuel and heating oil, which comprise the distillate category, are 63% below the five-year average in New England and 58% below the same average from Maryland to New York, according to a survey by the Department of Energy. Gasoline inventories are not as bad, but are still at their lowest levels in nearly a decade along the entire East Coast, the agency said.

The Northeast is heavily dependent on heating oil to keep homes warm in the winter, while other regions rely more on natural gas and electricity. Also, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has projected an active hurricane season, and a powerful weather event could cause disruptions, since most fuel consumed from the Middle Atlantic states to Maine comes from Gulf Coast refineries, energy officials say.

...and me with a 500 gallon tank. I’ll be getting a loan to pay for it. After all that will be the next thing Biden gives away as a freebe.

Liberal leadership:
1. Never waste a crisis.
2. Create a government response to the crisis.
3. IF a crisis doesn’t exist, create one.
4. Go to #1.

Home heating oil prices here are not dropping much.

We were extremely fortunate that last winter was mild enough and we burned enough wood that we only used on of our tanks.

However, it needs replenishing and we are watching home heating oil prices to see when would be a good time to buy.

I have suspected for some time now that prices will drop before midterms in a bid to help democrats win the elections. So we watch.

It is my understanding that fuel oil in the NE is over $6.00 a gallon. That equates to almost 2 grand to fill a single 275 gallon tank. Many people are going to freeze to death this winter. And I imagine as winter gets going the price will go to at least $10.00 a gallon. This is just democrats murdering people.

Many people in New England have oil heat...but luckily not me. However,I drive a diesel car. In the Northeast winter is the time of highest diesel prices because of heating needs. This winter, thanks to The Big Guy,prices will be way up from what they are today (120% of prices in summer 2020).

In places in NH fuel oil is just under $5/gallon.

Same for diesel at the local gas stations.

That's very probably true. But no need to fear...they're all blue states so the nation won't hear one word about it.

The northeast majority voted for this (or allowed cheating for this). Now they may freeze from the global warming.

Hmm. Is anyone suprised by this? I’m certainly not since this was the obvious outcome of the Biden progressive policies. Conservatives warned people heating fuel prices would not only go up but that there would be a shortage as well. Also, if the supplies are not there, it matters very little how much it costs.

Make the progressive heat their homes with fairy dust and unicorn droppings and let the conservatives have access to the available heating fuel.

And they’re the ones who “voted” for the big guy. A bit of poetic justice.
