The USA (led by the Puppet Biden) is the last country on earth to be lecturing about “sham” elections.
It’s not a lecture. It’s a gut busting laugh at the Monty Pythonesque buffoonery of Putinist Russia and its useful idiot parrots.
No need for CNN even. Just get the news from the horses mouth:

The the people of a specific area can have all their rights taken from them if a majority agree. Doesnt seem fair to me. When Quebec (a province of Canada) wanted to become independent from Canada Quebec voted on it. I got your point though. I happen to disagree. No one would ever get their independence in this case (unless they go to war, and here we are).
“The the people of a specific area can have all their rights taken from them if a majority agree. Doesnt seem fair to me.”
If people reject their country and its constitution and seek to break away from it, they are free to leave, but they can’t take the country with them. If they don’t leave, and they maintain their rejection of their country and its constitution, then they could very well lose their rights. As has happened many times and in many places throughout history.
So many commie lovers on FR now. Sad
You need to share this with Norse Viking. But he’ll reject it as NATO propaganda.

Oh SH*T, EVERYTHING changes in 24 hours, and Putin knows it | Redacted with Clayton Morris (with guests: Scott Ritter and independent journalist Eva Bartlett)
Travis, it is interesting to me to see how NATO and the U.S. specifically are responding to Putin’s partial mobilization and the referendums. A lot of the previously displayed bravado is missing. I think they have gotten Putin’s message and invitation to a NATO/Russia war and they have decided to decline attendance...:-)
Referendum voting appears to be going well. They are using mobilization (buses) to go to areas as well as door to door and in one region there have already been 180,000 votes...18% of the district have voted already.
Vladimir Putin assured western countries the elections in the Ukrainian areas would be totally legitimate.
“We have hired the finest consultants from the Democrat party in Detroit, Atlanta and Philadelphia to manage these elections . Everything will be totally above board to count the ballots that show 98.5% of voters want to be part of Russia “ “The 1.5 who vote against joining Russia will of course be hunted down like rabid wolves”.
Every country has a few Quislings. Borders should not be defined by them. Are we going to give California to Mexico because La Raza wants it? Putinists would argue yes, apparently.
Sorry, I’m busy watching video after video of Russian conscripts falling down drunk, fighting each other, etc. No wonder Putin is threatening nukes. It’s all he’s got. “Second Army of the World”? LMAO.
Yep.. and they’re going to be facing well-trained, well-equipped, motivated forces chomping at the bit to get at them.
“Putinists would argue yes, apparently.”
The great irony is that if, say, Karelia wanted to leave Russia and become a part of Finland, those same pro-Russia posters would scream FOUL! And Russia would kinetically attack Karelia to “set them straight.”
Hypocrite, thy name is legion!
Yea, I got your point. I just fundamentally disagree. I like giving real power to the states and provinces; away from a centralized power. The approach you describe will forever favor status quo and entrenched powers. In such cases it’s not hard for me to see why war is where it leads.
It obviously is. The parameters of mobilization are well-known. I know of one case where the notice was sent to a disabled guy but it gets sorted out.
Somebody’s worried.
No more gun running to USkraine.
It’s the Fourth Reich versus the Russian Empire in a war for grain and coal.

Ah yes, the old “Vote as if your life depends on it”.
Then they need to change their country’s constitution or move to a country more to their liking. But they can’t bring the country with them when they leave.
Think: When did this separatist movement begin? After Russia agitated for it. The same as in Georgia.
Actually, I disagree on that. Yes, some elections can only be determined to be a sham if fraud is discovered after the fact. However, it also is entirely possible to look at some elections before they happens and determine that the conditions under which the election is being held are fundamentally biased.
For example, in an active war zone where residents of one side of the other may temporarily flee their homes, or when the election is being conducted under the auspices of a regime that is openly attempting to acquire and annex that land, or when no campaigning is permitted or free speech is permitted, that election is fundamentally unfair. The Russians literally have arrested and deported political leaders that support Ukraine in those areas.
Under those conditions, it is entirely reasonable and fact-based to declare an election to be a sham before it has happened.
