Dissent in science is not disappearing. It is gone....and has been for some time now. Those who tried to fight the censorship have submitted ridiculously false papers which have been “peer reviewed” (by agenda driven numb nuts) and published, then revealed for what they did to PROVE that “science” ain’t factual any longer....to no avail. Real scientists are driven underground just like the competent and qualities fired in all areas are being dismissed today.

Get with the “program” (pogrom?) man, or GET OUT!

Galileo . . . Some of his work was suppressed because it contradicted The Narrative™ that prevailed at the time.

No, Gaileo ran afoul of the law because he insisted on declaring unproven theories as fact. The law was that theories were fine, they just had to be proven before they could be declared as fact.

Galileo's punishment was house arrest in a luxury apartment with all his equipment so he could continue his work.

All you have to do is look at the pro global warming pubs to see that.

As far as your alma maters go, write a letter to the alumni associations and tell them why you won't be giving them anything or maybe even hiring their grads. Mayber what you gave in the past or can ever give to them is a pittance, but every pittance helps!

When my insanely wealthy alma mater calls me asking for money I laugh at them:

“You are asking Me for money?”

Lol.

Actually science had known for years that the sun and not the Earth was the center of the universe. The Catholic church was in charge at the time and didn’t like that. Science didn’t question him. The law didn’t question him. The Catholic church did. The same body of scholars killed many to preserve their “authority”. Hardly a triumph of law, justice or science. The man was hung out to dry even by his fellow scientists for going against the “agenda”. Same thing is happening today.

He was too famous to kill, so yeah, they locked him up. Any “prison” or loss of right, no matter how “nice or luxurious” is still a prison.

I find ways to give to good programs at the schools that do not feed into “diversity” ideologies. Like a cancer research center!!!!

One of the best things about working in an industrial lab is that you are working on things with practical applications. What you develop is actually going to be used so anyone who tries to fudge their data is quickly discovered. So much of what is published in science journals these days is BS.

In $cience like the courtroom the desired results depend on who is paying.

I'm listening to the mp3 version of Plague Of Corruption, it's eye opening and $cience goes to the courtroom a bunch and even extra-judicial means are resorted to.

Except the people don’t do real science. It’s an ideological cult called “science”, which has nothing to do with actual science.

Which is why I said the so-called scientific "consensus" is that "Science is God." Of course, the far-lefty scientists would write God as lowercase 'g'od.

The Catholic church was in charge at the time and didn’t like that.

Nonsense. The Church had no problem with Copernicus' heliocentric solar system theory. The Church didn't like theories presented as facts. Do some reading.

Math is a concept and doesn’t require a person to exist, its always there just like God. When / if young minds grasp it, its really quite comforting and enlightening.
Take this mandelbrot set, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taKaFUNJ6Ec&t=2087s
Its amazing.

“Science” these days - is what our taxpayer-funded, governmental boot-licking ‘betters’ TELL us it is!

Science is disappearing from science.
___

As a conservative Christian and a retired scientist, I am thoroughly disgusted with the cancer that is liberalism. 40 years ago politics in science was unheard of. I received an MS in physics in the late ‘80s but it almost didn’t happen when my advisor found out I was a Christian. My mistake was writing to the editor of my college in support of the power of prayer. My letter was published, then the harassment and intimidation began. But I fought for my degree and won.

Six years later I pursued a PhD in computational physics. I was taking a class in astrophysical hydrodynamics and my advisor was teaching. He stomped into class one evening ranting about a debate between a Creationist (Intelligent Design, ID) and a Darwinist. The Darwinist lost the debate and my advisor called the ID supporter a snake oil salesman. I studied Intelligent Design and concluded that Darwinism demonstrated many weaknesses as a solid scientific theory. I asked my advisor a simple question, where did the first self-replicating RNA molecule come from? He was pissed and mumbled something about the class was not the proper forum to debate. I watched my PhD fly out of the window that night.

But if I had it to do over again I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I have always encouraged a lively debate regarding a wide variety of issues, even if it was a CLM, a Career Limiting Move.

While working for NOAA I openly challenged the idea that carbon dioxide was a pollutant and argued that a war on fossil fuels was unnecessary. I found myself alone because my coworkers were afraid to participate. So I took on the entire Climate Forum and challenged them to disprove my argument. The responses were surprisingly weak, a genuine lack of critical thinking. Even the moderator was wrong about CO2 emissions in the U.S., lowest since the early ‘90s because of conversion from coal to natural gas at most of our utilities.

The powers-that-be tried to get me fired by writing to my supervisor. He reviewed my posts and concluded that I was free to continue the debate. Finally the other side gave up. But I was placed on a blacklist and was robbed out of a promotion. The government does engage in prohibitive work practices and the EEOC process is non-existent. I am happily retired but I did my best as a public servant to serve in the best interests of the people, not to serve the powers-that-be and their greedy money game.

The powers-that-be harass and retaliate if anybody disagrees with the group-think. The scientific community is hopelessly corrupted by the pursuit of money, at the expense of science. I’ve watched in despair as liberalism has crept from academia to the scientific community, to all branches of government and most recently, into the medical community; even into our public schools.

The scientific method used to be testing a theory with experiment. Every theory makes predictions. If the theory does not match observations, it is wrong. But no, let’s change the observations to fit the theory. And while we are at it, let us change history, revise the past. The government has become decidedly anti-Christian, anti-conservative and anti-science. Feynman said it best, science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts. Only God’s intervention can save us from the increasing madness.
