Beyond chemicals.
Did these people really think that ‘beyond meat’ would actually catch on despite all the millions dumped into marketing it, Lefties, Vegans, etc., etc. buying into it?
Really?!
Wait till they shove bug meat and bugs in general onto the market like ‘beyond meat’....yeah, maybe that will catch on too.
Not.
That’s because it’s gross. Read the process for making it.
Like the WWII fuel saving ad, “when you drive alone, you ride with Hitler”.
When you eat fake meat, you dine with Schwab and Gates.
I’d eat eggs, Ramen, and Whey protein shakes before that estrogen boosting codswallop.
Same will go for lab grown meat that has problems with sanitation in micro scale with expectations to feed the world on macro scale.
The dogs don’t like the dog food.
They should do a merger with Carvana.
Someone here should have a good name for such a business.
Why do folks who won’t eat meat want their veggie-like slop to look and taste like meat?
It’s a bunch of highly processed soy. Probably one of the worst thing for ones health.
He probably just had a hankering for meat.
Go woke, go broke
Plant-based meat?
Does that mean plants are mixed in with ‘real’ meat or are they trying to redefine ‘meat’?
A real steak is actually plant-based meat. The steer eats the grass and magically turns it into a thick, juicy sirloin.
It is difficult to conceive of a dandelion shape-shifting into roast or steak.
Now, when they come out with meat-based broccoli, I am sure there will be lines at the grocery store.
Taste is key. It’s got to taste good. Plenty of non-meat items taste good. Beyond Meat’s product might not be one of them. From the article:
“We’re not experiencing anything like what Beyond Meat has reported or some of the other brands in the space,” Keely Sulprizio, a spokesperson for Impossible Foods, said in an email. “Quite the opposite: We’re seeing hypergrowth, with over 60% year-over-year dollar sales growth in retail alone.”]
I’ve been seeing an exodus of fake meat store stocks, first from the fresh case to the freezer, now from the freezer to the dollar stores.
This pleases me beyond words, except when it pushes out the variety of frozen foods out of the discount stores.
The sooner they tank, the better.
My first inclination is exactly what you observed. I’d go
hungry rather than eat some of that stuff (and that’s
actually a compliment considering the texture and taste).
I will say that I have had a few of the meatless items that
don’t seem like you’re in some sort of nightmare, and they
forced you to eat it over your objections, then a spare
arm or foot grows off the side of your chest.
If they can come up with something that is tasty on its own,
I would buy it. I’m not about to eat something tasting like
it’s 23 steps down from dog food, just to save the planet.
It needs to be nutritious also.
Had a Gen Zer co-worker who ate plant based meat.
One day, she shared a piece of chicken with me.
It had the texture of a gummy (gross) but tasted like chicken.
When I asked her what chemicals do they add this to make it taste it like chicken, the look on her face was priceless!
Good.
Too bad, so sad. My grocer had Beyond Meat burgers on sale, so I bought a package to try. One bite and I spit it out and threw the rest away.
Of course that krep just sits there. Gates can go suck rocks — and often does, apparently.
