Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the electoral college “has become a danger not just to democracy, but to the American people.”

MARGARET BRENNAN: This is an incredible body of work, all coming to this conclusion now, what do you think Americans at home need to know?
RASKIN: It’s a story of some real villainy and some real danger to democracy, but also of real heroism and commitment to American democratic freedom. And with democracy under attack all over the world, like with Putin invading Ukraine, and the Ukrainian people standing up for their democratic freedom, and tyrants and autocrats on the march everywhere, it’s good to know that we have a strong resurgent democratic spirit in America.

Sadly, Raskin had to say an oath the U.S. Constitution, so he word means absolutely nothing.
When they say, “danger to democracy”, they really mean, “danger to the demonrat party”.
As does the Senate. As does the 2/3 rule for treaties and impeachments, and so on.
The electoral college IS a threat to democracy. Good thing we’re a republic.

The end of the Electoral College is the end of the Republic.

The leftists have had the Electoral College (And the US senate, with its 2 per state regardless of population) in their sites for decades.
The American form of government was founded to prevent “Democracy”, which is absolutely nothing more than a Mobocracy, resulting in license, agitation, discontent, followed by dictatorship.
The framers of the constitution knew their history. Apparently, CBS doesn’t want their viewers to know history.
“Democracy” is not mentioned anywhere, not even once, in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, nor the Bill of Rights. It is only in the post World War II era that “Democracy” was touted as some sort of bulletproof magic talisman against and all bad government.
Part of the agreement for states entering the Union was the existence of the Electoral College. If the Electoral College is abandoned, states should be allowed to leave the Union.
