Skipping breakfast is ALWAYS a good idea, but it does sound silly in this context.
You could also skip subscribing to the Wall Street Journal to save money. (and your sanity.)
People with nothing, living off restaurant dumpster and back alley garbage who waited later in the day to find food were trend setters and didn’t realize it. No breakfast nearly every day. Also “intermittent fasting.” Another trend.
Author Henry Miller was so poor he scraped the moldy parts off food in the alley garbage and ate the sort of good parts. Also made it a point to happen to get an invitation to have dinner at various friends’ places——as many days as he could.

Well, that’s the thing — he’s not really serious. He know that those people with other views are just wrong and stupid, so why should he care?? But it makes him sound awesome if it sounds like he cares.
Why skip breakfast? Just raid the dumpster at Dinkie Donuts.
Or eat muffin stumps.
Road trip.
Bugs. It’s what’s for breakfast.
Or worms. It’s whats for breakfast.
