'Skip breakfast' to 'save money' says Wall Street Journal amid rising food costs

Amid woes of inflation and high food costs, the Wall Street Journal has suggested that perhaps Americans should skip breakfast to save money. Breakfast staples, they write, are showing massive price increases for a variety of reasons, so maybe just don't eat it.

Juices, eggs, coffee, wheat products are all at record high levels, the report states, so maybe just skip the whole thing, the Wall Street Journal suggested, perhaps taking a page from The Babylon Bee's book.

Pushback to the concept on Twitter was fierce and swift—which could have been part of the point of the WSJ's intent.

Senator John Kennedy was incredulous, remarking "Skipping meals to make ends meet? This is how badly Biden’s economy is beating down average Americans."

They want your guns, your personal vehicles, your electricity and your food.

You will have nothing to eat and be happy.

The conventional wisdom is that it's not a good idea to skip breakfast. In any case, toast, oatmeal, an egg or two—whatever—is not going to break the bank.

Breakfast is usually the cheapest meal of the day. Maybe skip lunch?

Perhaps the worst advice ever given.

Do these people every consult someone who actually knows
what they are talking about?

This is as bad as, “Let them eat cake.”

No, let them eat nothin!

My Father-in-Law (ultra-Liberal CT guy) likes to get a well-balanced view of the current political scene — so he reads two newspapers: New York Times, and Wall St Journal. He says it’s the most rightwing news source he can think of. I told him it was a leftwing newspaper and he was very confused.

Skip breakfast.

Earlier Dem congressman backed up the White House and said people who can’t afford inflated family food prices should open cans of Chef Boyardee.

In 1001 Ways To Live Without Working: A Standard of Laziness by Tuli Kupfergerg he said to eat every other day. Then escalate to eat every other other day. A Beat Generation humor book.

Yeah, sure. When that stinking brew of pus and excrement also known as Slo Joe has to skip HIS breakfast, and his cabinet of deviants and fiends must also, I’ll think about it. Meanwhile, pass the syrup!

This is biden’s America. Failed and failing more every day.

We will not survive this.

I wish I could post a comparison of the S&P over the last 22 years. There are two periods of long term doldrums where the index fell far and crept up in recovery. Both periods have biden in common. First with obama then with the idiot alone.

We Sr. Citizens are poised to lose or see reduction in benefits we paid for to take care of a bunch of dammned illegals and lousy worthless people and their equally lousy no good children.

It is past time for a cleansing.

Skipping breakfast as a part of intermittent fasting for weight loss is great health advice.

The best part about fasting is that it’s free.
