In Case You Forgot What Government Did to Us for COVID...

Santa Clara County (SCC) residents earn the title for longest duration living under the strictest COVID rules in the nation. SCC's public health department (SCC DPH) director, Sara Cody, became the face of lockdown — the spokesperson to declare the nation's first Shelter-in-Place (SIP) order on March 16, 2020. SCC was first in the nation to enter lockdown, lowest for in-person schooling, highest in restrictions, highest in punitive fines, and last to ditch school mask mandates. While frequently lauded by her proponents for touting "safety first," she knew that "the efficacy of face masks and physical distancing hadn't been established yet." Instead, Cody used intrusive surveillance to "proactively" find and fine violators, followed by legal action to compel compliance.

When Calvary Chapel in San Jose's Pastor Mike McClure declared church "essential" in May 2020, he made himself a beacon for God's people seeking community and a target for SCC's compliance unit. He made headlines for accruing $2.8M in fines for "obeying God over men" (Acts 5:29) while protecting religious freedom and providing hope to congregants suffering isolation and anxiety. In response to churches' 1st Amendment lawsuit, SCC countersued Calvary Chapel and other churches for violating public health orders. While other churches settled with the county after accruing daily fines, Calvary requested legal dismissal. County lawyer WIlliams retaliated by pressuring Calvary's bank to issue a loan default based on the county's $2.8M fines. McClure sued Williams for unlawful retaliation, and their case is ongoing.

Just a few reminders for when you see news sites or reporters trying to re-write history when it comes to their reporting and the government's actions regarding Covid.

We split time between out place on the San Francisco Peninsula (Santa Clara County - Ground Zero) and our place in North Idaho above Coeur d’Alene. You could to find two more polar opposites in the country. In North Idaho (Kootenai County), you’d hardly know anything was going on. The big box stores put up the usual plexiglas shields and ran announcements on their PA systems (”we are all in this together,” “maintain social distance,” yada yada) but rarely hassled people going maskless. Wells Fargo Bank was the ONLY establishment that refused me entry without a mask.

Santa Clara County was horrendous. Streets and parks emptied, neuroticism everywhere, businesses shut down and fined. Sara Cody was the perfect Hitler.

Now that we are three years past the original pandemic start, we can step back and assess results. We find that there is virtually NO difference between North Idaho and Santa Clara County on infection, ICU, and fatality rates. None.

If you “follow the science,” you should take lessons from that real-world experiment. The results were the same as the entire nation of Sweden that hardly did anything.

In Santa Clara County towns, you still see 5% to 10% of people masked up, often walking outside in a stiff breeze, riding their bicycles and in their cars alone. Just last Friday, a guy on the sidewalk stepped into the street to avoid walking past me!

How can these people NOT ask themselves “Do any of these things work?” Are they that stupid? That incurious? That lacking in any common sense?

One could reference the Salem Witch Trials to see how people long ago succumbed to hysteria. Apparently, they still can and government stands ready to take advantage.

Never forget who the real enemy is. It is the voters who put these idiots in charge (mainly democrat voters but plenty of republican voters also traded their freedoms for security.)

Treat the enemy accordingly.

Perfect analogy. Just two days ago as I was driving home (deep blue county) I saw a woman on the sidewalk walking her dog. The woman was wearing a plastic face shield. Outside. Alone. I literally did a double take.

http://www.salemwitchtrials.com/timeline.html

1692
January 20
Samuel Parris’ nine year old daughter, Betty, falls ill.
More young girls in Salem Village also fall ill.

1693
May
Gov. Phips pardons the remaining accused of witchcraft.

So that’s like, what, 16 months for the whole of the Salem Witch Hysteria.

Really, it was more like less than a year, considering that on in November 1692 it really started to wind down:

November 25
A Superior Court of Judicature is created to try the remaining persons accused of witchcraft. William Stoughton, Samuel Sewall, John Richards, Wait Still Winthrop and Thomas Danford are its members. Spectral evidence is no longer considered in the remaining trials.

So it can be argued that the Trance Covidians are something on the order of 3x more hysterical that the Puritans of Salem.

Exactly. Then, 150 years later...
Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds is an early study of crowd psychology by Scottish journalist Charles Mackay, first published in 1841 under the title "Memoirs of Extraordinary Popular Delusions." The book was published in three volumes: "National Delusions", "Peculiar Follies", and "Philosophical Delusions". Mackay was an accomplished teller of stories, though he wrote in a journalistic and somewhat sensational style.

These article is just jam-packed with “Wowzas.”

“By her own testimony, Cody strictly enforced mandates on people of faith and most small businesses while exempting favored groups, and she “spent taxpayer money supervising 900 contact tracers and conducting a Contact Tracing Study and the efficacy of masking to stop transmission [in infected persons without including a control group].’ Even one of the Board of Supervisors expressed “concern about the way [SCC] is addressing [this mandate] relative to the science.’”

The thing to do in this case (when you are on foot, not driving, of course), is to walk up to such a person, express sorrow for the immune-compromised state they must be in to lead them to have to wear a mask, and say you will pray for them.

If they protest that they have no condition making them susceptible to catching something, tell them you will pray for them to no longer be neurotic.

DO NOT FORGET what they’ve done to you.
Do not let their sudden realization they are in bad shape politically excuse the last two-plus years of abuses.
They shut down your job.
Called many of you “non-essential.”
Closed your kids’ schools.
Expected you to live off $1200 for months while they got richer and richer.
Denied you the ability to be with your dying loved ones.
Then denied you the ability to give those loved ones a proper funeral.
While they let George Floyd have three.
While they went on vacation.
Visited family.
The hair salon.
They arrested you for paddle boarding by yourself.
They shut down the parks and the playgrounds.
They called you a grandma killer if you questioned them.
Suspended you from social media if you didn’t obey the narrative.

They called you domestic terrorists when you demanded your kids get the education your tax dollars paid for.
They mocked you when you demanded a return to normalcy for children.
They sneer at your concern over empty shelves and exploding grocery and utility bills.
They messed with supply chains and emptied store shelves, while the elites partied on yachts and Martha’s Vineyard.
They queered women’s sports and the military, and made the citizenry pay for it.
They sexualized schoolchildren, and persecuted parents at school board meetings.
They denied you the chance to try alternative treatments for COVID.
Then they fired you for not getting the vaccine.
When you stand up for your freedom, they call you Nazis and bigots.

Do not forget what they have done.
Do not forgive them.
They are hoping that, by November, you have forgotten the nightmareof the last 2+ years.
YOU struggle to make ends meet and the best the Biden administration can do is free crack pipes for “racial equity.”
This is on top of the woke, cancel culture bull they shove down our throats, the 2020 riots, being accused of racism and bigotry because we oppose their agenda.
As the election draws closer, they’ll pretend they didn’t do any of this.
They’ll gaslight us.
Project.
Blame the GOP (like they tried to when defunding the police went south).

DO NOT give them power.
They haven’t learned a damn thing from this.
You re-elect them, and you can expect masks and lockdowns and nonsense in perpetuity.
Not just for COVID, but for whatever else they deem a “public health emergency” (guns, climate change).
(Remember, they are the very same people who ignore a pubic health emergency aka AIDS.)
They will trample your rights.
VOTE THEM OUT.

NEVER FORGET.

REMEMBER…..each and every NOVEMBER!

I have advocated, and I continue to advocate, that legislation be passed at whatever level of government it will work mandating that 5 years residency is a minimum requirement for voting in local matters. This obviously would not apply to Federal elections. Whether it could apply to state level elections depends on the wording of the state constitution. Your mileage may vary. Whether it would be legal to implement as a county ordinance would also depend on the language of the state constitution.

Something proactive has got to be done.

No, not out here in CaCaLand. For years the Demos have had a supermajority in the legislature. Repubs can object all they want, no effect. It is the perfect example of a communist takeover.

The REpubs got that way as few were willing to grow a pair. But, now, it is too late. The disaster that is CaCaLand is all because of the Demos and the NPC’s who put them in power. Repubs bear no responsibility.

Fortunately, our Idaho roots go back to 1920 when my grandparents moved from southeastern BC to Sandpoint. Lots of other relatives from Alberta and BC wound up around Kamiah, Moscow, Pullman, Potlatch, Grangeville, etc.
