GOP Rep. Thomas Massie endorses DeSantis for 2024

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for president on Wednesday, becoming the second House Republican to throw their support behind the Florida governor — even though he has not launched a campaign for the White House.

In a statement released by the Never Back Down super PAC, which is supporting a DeSantis presidential bid, Massie called the Florida governor “a proven energetic leader.”

“America needs a leader who is decisive, respects the Constitution, understands policy, puts family first, and leads by inspiring,” Massie said. “That’s why I’m endorsing Ron DeSantis for President.”

“If we make the right choices, America’s best days are in front of us. Let’s pick a proven energetic leader who can get us there,” he continued. “Let’s choose Ron DeSantis for President.”

It's payback for when Trump threw Massie under the bus for being the only one to call out the insanity of the CARES Act where unemployed people that were making $18k per year were suddenly making $52K annualized on unemployment.

I don't assume that it was payback, but if it was, that would be inappropriate reason.

We had the most conservatives run for governor and they were kicked to the curb by voters in Arizona and Pennsylvania. We’ve lost more races then won since trump has been head of the party. Do you not see that? I mean we lost again in Wisconsin! Of all places!

Trump endorsing Ronna McRomney hasn’t helped matters.

Between Massie and Trump, I’ll take Trump.

There’s no way someone spouting Massie’s anti-government dogma could ever get elected in a statewide race outside of the South.

Trump is more realistic about what the people want. They don’t hate Social Security or the minimum wage the way that Massie or DeSantis do.

Trump endorsed Massie’s opponent, who lost by 35 points.

The Republican Party would do so much better if Trump would start endorsing Dimocrats.

I see that you don’t see that voter fraud has had a little bit to do with it. What part of that don’t you understand?

Our problem is we’re playing an old game in a new era. The democrats are proof positive that candidates mean nothing. The factors aren’t about flesh and blood, they’re about principalities and powers. To lose is to be doomed. The democrats live it and believe it. It’s time we awaken from our slumber.

Provide the list of lost races and won races.
If there was fraud, please clarify.
Did Kelly in WI refuse Trump money?
Did Kelly campaign as a conservative or a squish?
Did conservatives win a seat in the WI senate?

Kari Lake currently has an active case on invalid signatures in AZ
AZ Rep AG candidate has active case where race was called (280 vote difference) without counting thousands of ballots.
Did voters kick these 2 to the curb?
Did Oz run as a conservative or a squish?
Name the year the last time WI elected a republican for President (besides Trump)?

1. How dare Massie! He needs to resign!

2. Good for him.

3. Cut Massie some slack. Even proven leaders like Trump can make bad endorsements.

The only problem with your scenario is that I don't think the RINOs will back DeSantis either. Oh, they will support him enthusiastically until Trump is out of the way, then turn their backs on him if it means agreeing with uncomfortable election fraud allegations. Allegations that - if verified and corrected - could cost many of them their seats in future primaries.

RINOs aren't protecting Democrats - they are protecting a system that keeps public opinion from removing undesirable incumbents.

If Trump is the nominee his public profile and big mouth can keep the heat on the fraudsters, even if he has no electoral path to victory. Because if he doesn't have such a path, DeSantis doesn't, either.

I love the guy for his politics, but it’s pointless when he’s one of no more than a half-dozen opponents of a bill that ends up passing by a margin of 400+ votes.

Was it a bad bill or was it not? Was it the right thing to do, to make everyone who intended to vote for a bad bill actually put their name on it instead of doing an unrecorded voice vote? He was 100% right and normally always is.

What the rest of us have figured out is that being a “staunch conservative” doesn’t mean as much as we used to think. Voting conservative 95% of the time on meaningless bills that have no chance of passing means little. When the rubber meets the road, most of these “staunch conservatives” suddenly lose their resolve. If the rest of us have figured out that DeSantis is the GOPe choice, then Massey surely has. And that’s why he’s endorsing DeSantis, not because they voted together on meaningless show votes while in Congress.

Sorry, he has taken brave votes. Anti- DHS and spying. Will Trump talk about reigning in the DHS, TSA and NSA? Massie has walked the walk.

missing the big picture here N...
we also now have gained a supermajority that is veto proof for that state.

conservative leaders have and are now openly and publicly flaunting their intended use the 2/3 majority needed to impeach the governor democrat and the liberal court members... and I expect with the current hostilities brewing widely in the state and the nation...

the ballot stuffing cheats who just “won” a supreme court seat... will now see it vacated, along with the democrat governor...

“Brave votes”? When were these votes taken? When Pelosi controlled Congress and they had no chance of passing?
